Ultimate: V = VII = XII
God tier: VI = IX = X-2
Great: VIII = X
It's ok/10: I = IV = VIII:R
Not that good: III = XVI >gutter shit power gap
Awful but playable: XV = XIII
Unplayable/offensive: II = XIII-2 = LR
Any game with a job system is better by default. It's the same reason why V/XII/Tactics are as good as they are. Garment grid makes it feel like FFV in a way. There's also less emphasis on a coherent story or the self-importance attached to most of these bullshit JRPG themes, as it pays more focus to the gameplay than the nonsense side story.
XII doesn't have a job systems. Originally the game had no class system at all, but the one they did give the game is not a jobs system because you can't switch jobs, you can only pick two and run with it. Class skills are also terrible in XII, it's all licenses to use spells and equipment, no fun stuff like jump or two hand or rapid fire.
License boards are jobs in the newer editions (IZJS/TZA). It's true that the base game didn't have any job structure and you could collect everything with enough time, but the re-releases made the players choose how to specialize characters. It's the same logic applied to FFX, which was just a big ass sphere grid that you could unlock everything with enough time and keys to break the barriers to reach new segments. If it forced you to select a segment/specialization and gave the player more choice, maybe FFX would be better than it is too.
How do I have fun in FFXII? This is my second attempt to play through this game and I am strongly remembering why I dropped the game after the Raithwall Tomb the first time.
You don't. If you can't resonate with how the game plays by that point then there is no sense beating your head against a wall. Granted, the game opens up considerably after you complete the Tomb and later Draklor, but I think there's merit to having gone through the Sandsea as that's arguably the worst part of the game even with game speed boosting from IZJS/TZA.
As for me, I made a point to collect all of the weapons and armours and spent a lot of time completing hunts, so there was always something to do, grind for or math out through gambits. Half of the fun in this game's combat system is discovering ways to automate an encounter efficiently.

That's not how Final Fantasy works, anon. Everyone knows the newest game is always the biggest piece of shit Square Enix has ever produced until the next one comes out, and then people are allowed to like the previous entry.
That's how most franchises on Ganker work, but in this case XVI was an actually good game while XV and XIII trilogy were actually bad games so you can't apply a Zelda cycle.
None.

more like way mid

MMOs are for trannies.

You can't be a sunk-cost homosexual if you willingly restart on both retail and private servers multiple times.

I love 12 the most
6 > 7 > 4 > 10 > 5 > 9 > 1 > 8 > 3 >12 > 2 > 13 > mmos
Which one do you hate the most? That one.
Tactics.
The top 5 is Tactics, 12, 6, 14 and 16
5 is honorary top 5 because it has the best traditional combat system of the entire series.
4 and 9 are the best. Then a power gap and 7 and 12. Worst are 8 and 10. No I will not elaborate.
5, 10, and Tactics.
6 and 7 are definitive Final Fantasy.
true, Ganker will tell you it's something else because 6 and 7 are popular
VII, and none of the others are even close
