Who cares, the Ashime was dogshit, good riddance, but here's the most memorable scene in its 25 years of existence.
The Cynthia episodes deserve it the most. Not for the content but for being made on a shoestring budget. They look so fricking bad it is unreal

Probably the Goh/Suicune thing, I feel like I heard about it when I wasn't following the anime at all.
As somebody who doesn’t watch the anime the only one of these scenes I know the controversy of is Goh catching Suicune so I’d say that.
1. Serena kissed Ash (on the lips) last time she saw him. Her subplot in the XY series was her having a crush on him. When they reunited for the first time in 6 years (our time), nothing about it was brought up.
2. Ash defeating Cynthia, who is my peoples waifu. In their full battle she opted to dynamax her Togekiss instead of Megaing Garchomp.
3. You know.
4. Iris becoming Champ of Unova off-screen when she didn't show any interest or talent of being one before she left.
5. Misty beat Ash in a 1 v 1 of water Pokemon soon after Ash became Champ.
6. Ash became world Champ.

calm down Cynthiagay. Outside of your bubble, Ash beating Cynthia did not cause backlash and outrage. It was expected for anyone who actually watched the show and wasn't a speedwatcher.
I'm not a Cynthiagay (I'm a Skylagay), but a lot of waifu fans were angry and claimed that if she used Megachomp Ash would have lost.
She still would have lost lol. The story demanded that Ash wins, so regardless of whatever Cynthia did she would have lost.

This made sense. Mega Garchomp is a sidegrade that sacrifices speed, and dynamaxing Togekiss made it become a formidable foe that wasted a lot of Lucario's stamina rather than getting OHKOd by a Bullet Punch. It didn't pan out, but it was a calculated move.
The first epsiode, I watched it once and stopped watching Journeys immediately. The artstyle is bullshit.
I'd say the Rillaboom sweep would be high on the list of negatively-recieved anime moments.
