Only played the psp version but I loved it. I hear the ps1 version is very archaic and the current gen one is based on the psp version. If you have no frame of reference, just get the current gen version. If you haven’t already been playing it for 20 years and if you don’t subject yourself to new-bad online autistic whining I’m sure you’ll have a good time.
For what it’s worth I’ve never been able to get into any ff tactics games but was absolutely hooked on LUCT
>I hear the ps1 version is very archaic
It plays exactly like Final Fantasy Tactics and it doesn't have the skill bullshit which means you can recruit an invincible skellington warrior from the very first Nybbeth map which makes most maps a breeze.
On the other hand my beautiful wife Ozma isn't playable in that version so frick it.
They all suck. LUCT (PSP) is the most customizable one, so you can make it suck the least with cheats there

(modded Reborn still sucks much worse than modded LUCT. Don't touch One Autism Vision for the 1st playthrough btw)
Why is Denam such a moron? I'm assuming that I can't keep Catiua from an hero-ing on what I assume to be the "Law" playthrough? I'm trying to keep myself relatively spoiler free for the first run, and both dialogue options I have seem equally dogshit and I really don't feel like redoing the Lanselot fight just to be cucked again
Yeah I saw I got Lord unlocked, so I just kept playing. Frick it, she'll get saved next time. Plus hearing Denam go all you are always gonna be my SISTER killed my hopes for a wincest route anyhow.
snes chronicles of valieria (really rare old jp mod that isnt on the net anymore but i have it) ads a frickton of balance overhaul and 3 extra layers of class tiers, also adds ravness
yeah the snes one has big potential and overall is even better than the ps1 one which is a shitty port with worse audio and nothing else.
generally my list for playing this is
snes - for chronicle valeria 2
sega - for vanilla retro tactics ogre (like snes and ps1 but better audio and voice acting)
ps1 - shit, dont bother
psp - vanilla is ass but one vision is pretty good
steam - for modern high graphics vanilla, hopefully one vision ported over oneday
Is there a loot table for random encounters? I'm farming card buffs (psp) and i noticed enemies that have no loot assigned drop a card 100% of the time.
Wanted to hunt those enemies down.
Probably? Extract the tables and see if you can find a table for your map and (not) assigned loot in there.
https://github.com/gibbed/Gibbed.LetUsClingTogether/blob/main/configs/psp/filetables/1000_battle.filetable.toml >9.path = "map_parties.xlc" # not sure if completely accurate
is probably what you should look at first
Does anyone here happen to know in psp or steam version that if you kill a lawful priest with no kills, she will be reborn as angel knight in branta"s castle fight?

OG version with the training mode is the best

You can save your sis on every route. dead sis give you a special class

no wincest
I always get the sisters. They're just so damn good. Chaotic good for the win baby.
>Which version of Tactics Ogre is the best? The PS1, PSP or current gen one?
Knights of Lodis
They are different and all of them are playable if you don't have a crippling autism. Just go with reborn.
Conspire? I AM Galgastan.
PSP with One Vision
snes chronicles of valieria (really rare old jp mod that isnt on the net anymore but i have it) ads a frickton of balance overhaul and 3 extra layers of class tiers, also adds ravness
It's amazing what they could do with this version of the game. They even had modding tools that never got translated.

Could you elaborate on PS1 version ? What's the differences exactly ? Or it's just snes port ?
the ps1 version is an snes port but worse in every way as it has just worse sound quality and ads nothing new to the game.
the snes version is just jp but there is an english fan patch
Huh, how weird, okay thanks.
I tried playing CV2 and the hack felt like it was punishing me for trying to use anyone that wasn't a named character.
I mean the PSP version of the game does that too
thats cause generic higher tier player units are significantly worse than generic higher tier enemy units.
your units level as basic unit, till u fullfill requirements then upgrade and level as new higher tier.
enemy higher tier units have always been this higher tier since level 1 and have far superior stats
i always recruited random encounter generics for this problem.
this is the only flaw this hack really has

Huh, how do i use that?
Could you help me a bit?
Everything is in a .toml file format i don't really get what to do with it.
Reborn is the best.
what makes reborn good in your opinion? i havent played it yet. graphics and better sound track asside.
i know it brought back the snes style level up and training mode, and ditched the stupid shit from psp like class levels that made it a hassle.
did it drop the overly op skills that trivialized the game from psp?
any entirely different new changes?
its the only version i did not play yet
Nta but here is a list of differences
