no fricking way. ebay is such a fricking scam. All those games were under $100 5-10 years ago. What scares me is that even the japanese games are raising absurdly in price recently because all the shills sponsoring buyee. now you have to be a millionaire or a fool to buy shit today the inflation is insane.
Do you not know the difference between a listing and something that has sold, moron? I can list a loose Midnight Resistance for five grand. Doesn't mean it's ever going to sell.
No shit I know the difference. But just because you can doesnt mean you should. It drives the price up and incentivizes more idiots to jack up their prices so they can bait some sap into paying those ridiculous prices. inflating the actual value and rewarding resellers.
Oh well. What are you going to do to stop people from naming their price? What if people started asking $50 for SMB/DuckHunt? How are you going to force Ebay's hand to stop that?
What good is going to come from b***hing about it like a child?
They ruined the market. I can call out shitty scammer scalpers greedy practices all I want and never give them swindlers any of my hard earned money. I will laugh when nobody wants to pay for their unsold shit they sit on for years.
who is "they"?
i see a lot of uniformed redditors shitposting online
a reseller is literally just someone selling their property
the seller doesnt control market value
the market worth is determined by the free market
in a capitalistic society (which the united states isnt, its crony capitalism/corporatism +big media trying to brainwash you into giving the last bit of control to the feds/megacorps aka "anticapitalist")

a tard on craigslist doing his due diligence before making a for sale listing is not who you should be blaming for everything on ebay costing 2-100x times the prices were even 10 yrs ago
it's called inflation

I hunted down a legit SD2SNES five years ago for about $60. That was a good purchase. It was during a time when SD2SNES were being heavily ripped off by chinks, but I knew what to to look for to get a revision that hadn't been copied.
I just make my own repros at this point. I use shit games and this website to match with better games. Im damn near close to having anything worth it or any games emulators have trouble with still. https://jensma.de/snes__/
It's costly to start, but if you like tinkering with shit it's worth it. The rom is pretty cheap still, it's the flasher that is a nice penny. Not bad and they usually come with tons of adapters in a bundle, but you'll need to buy a special adapter for old rom chips. Here is what I use, just in case you're interested.

I still own my childhood copy of SMW from 1991. I stupidly threw away the box as a kid but so did everyone else in the 90s. Im not paying extra for a cardboard box. Just download the roms for free.
The one I actually have nostalgia for. When going for a physical collection you miss out by getting the one you're not nostalgic for. It's not the same. If all you care about is the game then just emulate it.
I own 3 copies of US SMW (1 in old-style SNES cat, 1 in new-style SNES cart, and SMAS plus World cart) but I'd still own a japanese copy. Cool cover art (I still think the clear blue background of the US design is more iconic, but that background illustration on the box and manual/cart of the JP version looks soulful as frick, also SMW has some small changes in the japanese original, like the title screen letters having a bigger shadow, or Yoshi signing his house letter as "Super Dragon Yoshi", it's small details like that.
One of the best games ever honestly you can't have too many copies, I'd also buy the GBA version for the exclusive content.
I used to complain about retro game prices, but then I realized that I can get pretty much everything I could ever want for 10k or less. Compared to my other hobbies it’s not that bad.
Get a real hobby
You're all queers.

I've thought about doing that. I have quite a few bottom barrel SNES games.

you guys are paying money for videogames? I just downloaded this game for free

Emulate both for free if you want to play it. Collecting plastic toys is pathetic.
Retroarch > snes9x
>turn remove slowdown off, reduce flickering, overclock super fx
Yeah, I’m thinking it’s gaming time
Speculative collectors are an absolute blight on the retro game market
That said, just emulate lmao
