Good, they're much more fun to have around compared to the OG so not bringing them back would be a waste. All 3 will sacrifice themselves in the fight against Sephiroth anyway. It's incredibly obvious that they're killing the characters that are supposed to die at different points this time around.

This hints at her not knowing or even remembering that she died. I smell red herring and alternate universe shenanigans.
Yeah it is Tifa I guess. It's just a stupid line that would actually be more fitting for Jessie since she literally did die. Even the original game just implies Tifa simply survived the slash and that wasn't even part of a twist, it just simply wasn't a killing blow.

a big problem with fans who become the "real" source of "real" translations is they become so reliant on the official translations being wrong and their translations better that they will imply literally everything official is wrong so that people keep coming back for their superior translation which is often wrong or just so incredibly slightly different that it never frickin mattered
also as a fan they're 100 times more likely to skew things in a way that will drive up engagement and attention rather than just doing a good job, and I don't think anyone denies she's done this many many times

To clarify, Tifa doesn't know he was there because she doesn't remember him being there at the end due to her injuries.
Cloud's memory places him there but in Zack's place, so his story of that time is riddled with half truths when he is recounting it to the party.
It's why Tifa is confused and keeps an eye of Cloud. He knows things about that day he shouldn't (from her view) because Zack and Sephy were the SOLDIERs that day and Cloud was a grunt.

Because Squeenix said so. Kinda based honestly, fans wanted a 1/1 adaptation and the execs just wanted to make a game how they wished. This is their only chance and god knows how much longer they have to live.
Jessie and Wedge are dead, who knows if Biggs is alive or just tripping balls in an alternate timeline/lifestream with Zack, not realising they're dead yet
Because Nomura likes to suck all the impact out of the story by letting all of his OCs live which he always tries to offset with more convoluted details and cliffhangers.
