It's normally used to play games that aren't even sold anymore, so there's no damage done.
Hell, the games that are emulated actually benefit from being on pc due to it being a more powerful console.

My general policy is anything is fair game once a generation is over. That includes modding, piracy, or emulation.

Not really. Most people simply oppose emulation of a current gen console that is still being sold in stores and widely available because it has the potential to undercut Nintendo’s efforts. This is especially true when emulation of a current gen console is used for piracy.

Emulation makes me stop playing from the volume of backlog going up 50fold. I guess I'm mentally weak.
Set yourself an imaginary budget and add games to an imaginary owned folder based on that. You aren't allowed to "buy" games unless you finish a certain amount of your backlog. Or you can trade them in if the game sucks.

Normies don't know what emulation is. They just think "Hey Anon got a supped up NES mini with tons of games!". Now zoomers hate emulation because they are too stupid to use it / too scared of getting vanned. Then you have the /vr/ CRT turbo autists who hate emulation because it's only 99.999% accurate. Anyone who is against emulation is a fricking boot licker in my opinion, emulation is the only thing keeping very old console games still available.
