>these threads are fricking stupid
then stop bumping them you worthless wienersucker. if you gays wanted the dozens of daily genwar slop threads to go away you’d stop posting in them
I'm gonna get crucified for saying this but RS and especially emerald are probably the "hardest" pokemon games IMO. Pretty much every gym battle has the potential to frick you up if you aren't prepared. I think the main reasons the games feel harder than some of the other games are the lack of high BP moves, and the overall low BSTs of hoenn mons. 10 minutes max until HE shows up
I was quite possibly experiencing no suffering through brain damage trying to play through legends arceus. Literal rape vibes lmfao. stupid japanese children ruining pokemon games.
The way legends arceus was designed. ERRR heehee grab a video gamey right here it’s insufferable my brain was melting GOLD playing through this shit.
In the older games, you had music and gameplay, do women really like playing in silence. It’s not good. ITS. NOT. GOOD.
Despite that, I’ll try playing with depression giggles ON.
>Why are the nugens so dumbed down?
Because ever since Sun and Moon (the beginning of the removal of Natdex) they suddenly realized that piss poor map design and saying the magic K-word would carry the series.
Why make dungeons, side routes, or support a full bestiary like all the prior Pokemon games did if your loyal fanbase will buy it anyway and pay you a premium to do so?
I’m pokemon I’m a childrens game I’m pokemon I’m pokemon adults play me for 5 minutes huh what’s a legendary god pokemon is that another ganon I’m pokemon I’m pokemon I’m pokemon I can do better. I’m pokemon game I just be in the video game industry.
GF is a business, not a charity, they want to sell more copies and get more money, obviously, (everyone does it all depends on the balancing between the love for the game/consumers and the love for their fricking cash, let's leave it out of the discussion for now how they currently don't give a frick about the game or us, and only want to get as much money as they can)
One of the initial strugglrs with Pokemon, back when it wasn't yet the multi mega collossus that it is now, was to be sold to more people, that means children, they had to reduce their demographics, because children sell better (this is also expecially true since the game is published by Nintendo, you know, the family friendly guys) this can be read in old ass interviews like this one, it was always been a priority to make the game more accessible for children, they just went at it gradually not ruining the game completely for older fans.
(While right now the games are set on toddler's difficulty because older fans buy the game matter of factly so there is no reason for GF to give them something that they will like, just adding shilmons to the game is enough)
Anon you are replying to here,
I wouldn't say that, it's just that people don't realize that Pokémon is an almost 30yo franchise, and MANY of the people that used to work there just don't do it anymore, Tajiri for example, the "father of Pokémon" has nothing to do with the games since GSC, Satoru Iwata (may he forever rest in peace) was an important man for the franchise and he sadly died in 2015 (around the time SM were being developed) and I have my doubts he was still that much involved since XY.
Then just thinking about programmers, and artists, a LOT of people changed, so it wouldn't really be wrong to say that the games are drastically different from how they used to be.
It probably wasn't a long-term plan, just happened with time, new directors, new priorities and stuff (like gen 5 flopping and gen 6 making them realize that nostalgia sells like crazy)
>Gen 5 >flopping
Mainline Pokemon has never flopped. >b-but half a million copies!
Mean nothing to a franchise that always sells ~10 million at worse. This is NOT the franchise to bring salesgayging to, anon.
Ok anon I know that you probably spend your day on here and shit is trown left and right to every single gen every like, 3 threads, but by GF standards BW were an absolute flop, sure it still sold lots and lots, games like Pokémon crystal or emerald are real flop where they barely sold any copy (this again, by a pokèmon standard) but what you fail to consider is that a sale is not based on raw cash or copies sold, you have to think about the time in requires to complete a game and the effort put in it.
I'll make it easy for you with a simple example:
A) You spend 1 year developing a game and put in tons of sidequests, dialogues and sell 20M copies
B) You spend 3 months developing a game, put in just enough dialogue to not make the game feel empty, and you would like to make sidequest but you don't have the resources to do that and so end up putting only like, 3 fetch quests in, then this game sells 16M copies
If you look at these options from an outsider perspective game A is the better one, since it sold more, but you are ignoring the fact that it costed more to produce (both in raw cash AND in human resources) besides the personal, human, feeling of literally wasting your time, if you worked so hard to make game A, but then with game B you sold basically the same, if not better in terms of costs, why would you, in the first place even TRY to do something like game A again? It would be more efficient and less time consuming to try and optimize option B.
That's basically what happened with gen 5, it didn't sell badly per se, but it stopped GF momentum of always striving to make a better game than the one before (you can check everything in interviews I'm not making this up) they hit the wall, they expected more, and after that they realized that it's easier to just, not invest in pokèmon that much since it will sell either way, if you are not aware GF has two teams "team 1" and "team 2" and guess which one is for pokémon? Exactly, team 2
While team 1 tryes disperately to make a game that will eventually "become the next pokémon"
They are trying so fricking hard to let pokémon die and regain their own identity as game producers by making a shit ton of other games (you can check on wikipedia, and btw some are so trash that don't even have pages lmao) trying to create a new one, while continuing ot make pokémon without any efforts because it literally sell on its own, just the brand's name sells.
I think this makes more sense when Masuda's statement is taken to mean things outside of battles. >FRLG has a help menu feature whenever you press the shoulder buttons >pretty sure the teachy TV is also expanded or something >the AI is better though and trainers are updated with better movesets, and the e4 gets stronger when you rematch them >in Hoenn iirc finding maxie's hideout can be difficult, and there's diving around to find where you need to go at certain points in the game
In terms of figuring out how to progress and finding out where to go, I think RS is more challenging for a young kid, and there are more puzzles, although I have trouble remembering Sinnoh because I haven't played Plat in a while.
>lmao just learn braile you stupid child
They had a translation table in the handbook.
do NOT post the final brendan fight (optional)
Uhh sinnohsisters... we let it slip that the final rival fight in RSE isn't Brendan...
These threads are fricking stupid.
Bravo Masuda

Huh. I admit, I was wrong. Maybe he's asleep.
who are you talking about
Just wait, he'll show up eventually.
That one alolagay I guess
GODpert + Breloom + Manectric = kill hoenn

Damn Hoenn really was the peak of pokemon and everything after that was dumbed down for toddlers
Probably bait post but I'm gonna bite.

Sounds like boiling the frog to me.

Unironically it's because of Mt. Coronet complaints and mobile gaming.
RSE were the last good pokemon games.
DPPT is harder than FRLG and RSE combined
I think this makes more sense when Masuda's statement is taken to mean things outside of battles.

FINALLY another person that understands difficulty in Pokémon is more than just the battles.
I guess you could consider the recap when you load a save game as a way to make the game easier too.
FRLG is literally like "Hey moron, ever use a control pad before?"
Masuda got absolutely mindbroken by the mere existence of phones.
Read ANY interview of his post smartphone era and its always WELL WE MADE THIS EASIER BECAUSE PHONE KIDS ON PHONE
His mind is completely gone and we wont get a good pokemon game until him and his yesman wienersuckers all keel over from dementia
Because kids these days are dumb cuddled little psychopaths.
