    Because Disney killed Star Wars. These devs have made nothing good storywise since release of the game. But I don't care for Star Wars anymore.
    And remember:

    >THE POWER OF TWO
    >THE POWER OF MANY

      After Rogue One and The Force Awakens I gave up. It's all soulless trash. I went back and played dark forces that day and listened to Limp Bizkit

    I like to play it with my brother when he’s home, so we can talk in person. And when he’s away for school he’s always busy. Here’s a pic of our characters being epic.

    >Finish Droumond Kaas quest line
    >Can finally get a weapon upgrade
    >[You must own Hutt Cartel DLC to select this reward]

    I wonder why.
    Also you can't play as a Trandoshan Bounty Hunter. Major point loss in that one.

    It's probably the last Star Wars game ever that'll let us be in the empire without the story forcing us to defect. That's why I play it every day.

    Although the expansions after Rise of the Hutt are trying their damndest to make us a light-leading neutralgay that can't stop quipping or sassing someone every minute.

        Nu-Battlefront 2 made a big deal of how the campaign was going to be from an Imperial POV, but then you defect 3 missions in.

    i played for almost 200 hours, but just can't bring myself to get back into it. probably cause both my characters have a thousand items and i can't be bothered to recontextualize everything and pick up wherever i left off in the story. i completed the Jedi Guardian story and the first two DLCs though.

    Finding a prog group and not elitists who are running shit for a living is hard.
    I've cleared a few but the only class I like isn't viable for most of them either.

    Because it was massively inferior to the other Star Wars MMO: Galaxies. Frick me I had some good times in SWG. I can't remember any that I had in TOR.

    • 1 week ago
      Anonymous

      because SWTOR is theme park slop and SWG is sandbox.

      • 1 week ago

        Yup. As a lover of pre-NGE SWG, I can admit that the game had basically 0 content before JTL and theme parks. 90% of the entire game was just taking generic ass quests from a mission terminal and going out into the wild with your homies. But the atmosphere, music & coziness with your friends made it an unforgettable experience. I was 13 when I first started playing SWG and I will never forget grinding out in the wastes of Tatooine with a huge group. Having our dedicated Ranger setup a camp for us to heal while we had an Entertainer help with battle fatigue... the winds picking up and a sandstorm starting while the suns set with the amazing music playing...

        It was the community that made SWG amazing and I have never experienced such an amazing community in any MMO since. It was also the fact that you were just a regular dude in the Star Wars universe, not some epic hero. The entire game was player driven, including the economy to the fact that you HAD to visit players to get permanent wounds healed, and that's what made it work. Sure there were a lot of hiccups, like when the credit duping exploit really fricked with the economy early on, but things stabilized eventually and I thought when JTL came out that the game was in a great spot. Then the "Combat Upgrade" came out and made half the community quit. I almost quit myself but eventually found I could still have fun. The final nail in the coffin was the "New Game Enhancements" that were anything but enhancing the game.

        At least I was able to sell my account on eBay back before they banned account selling for a cool $500 as I had an absolutely jacked Jedi character, a melee focused character & a ranged Bounty Hunter character. Holy shit though, looking through my old screenshots, I don't know how my teenage self was able to live with 300+ ping & my FPS dipping into the teens.

    Combat is just too much of a fricking slog, too many "go kill 20 guys that die in one hit then run back and forth" quests, if they were to release the game with the same story and updated non tab target mmo trash combat I would still play it, I would probably even pay money for it, I think the post classes story is fine even

    I had an original account from back when it first came out and started smuggler but used a free level up to make him level 75, even cloaking through most areas and only doing main quests and non heroic side quests it's an absolute slog.

      There's a fix for that, but I can't remember what it is.
      There's something you delete in the files.

      I found this
      Press the [Windows] Key + [R] at the same time

      Copy the following in to the text box and press ok

      %localappdata%swtorswtorsettings
      Open the client_settings.ini file in notepad and ensure the following are displayed within

      Fullscreen = false
      D3DFullScreen = false
      RefreshRate = 60
      Check NativeHeight, NativeWidth, Height and Width ( all 4 ) match your monitor resolution.

      Save and close the file.
      Start the game as normal.

      But this isn't what I did. What I was thinking about was Bitraider. You have to install the game with it, but you can uninstall just Bitraider after. So maybe do both of these things if one or the other doesn't work. Bitraider is fricking shit though, so always get rid of it.

      i think this was the expansion i was in the middle of when i fell off playing TOR, which is really weird in hindsight because i felt like the story and cinematics were only getting better as i progressed through the DLC's. the base game was a little forgettable since a lot of the Jedi Knight's story is just going from planet to planet doing fetch quests and wetwork, but i do remember being really surprised by the brainwashing time skip. that was sick as hell. i liked the Revan expansion too, that golden-skinned Sith girl who joins your party is a top waifu.

        I didn't like it because it stripped all of my power, maybe me get knocked around like I'm some low tier nobody, and then gives me a fleet to replace my old power just to immediately take it away again.
        It was dogshit. I just wanted to be Lord Imperius, doing my Sith council shit. Making sure Ravage didn't frick shit up because he's a moron, collecting new and interesting slaves, and studying deep Sith magic.
