      This.
Did MC, fragged some people in WSG, and had my fill. Release BC servers and ill work on getting my arena rating up, but WoW classic PVP is the worst. It exclusively rewards time and not skill.

just like with Classic TBC servers will be ruined by tryhards and zoomers jerking off to their favorite streamer on their 2nd monitor

          Anonymous

Yeah I agree, but at least I will have some reason to keep on doing arena PVP, rather than just AFKing in AV to get my rank up.

  2. 4 years ago
    Anonymous

alliance stopped playing in p2 because the endless camping in the open world. MC raid logging got boring and most people are fully geared. PvP ranking was is just AV spamming and made many people quit. as usual nlizzard have no clue what they are doing and add some changes that make no sense when it's way too late. BWL will bring some people back but from there it just will go downhill. even streamers rather play on upcoming private servers that release at the end of the month than dealing with classic. we can only blame ourselves for thinking blizzard might not ruin classic when the legacy movement asked for it.

      Anonymous

the function of classic was to make pservers more accurate all along

        Anonymous

I wouldn't even trust the reliability of Classic though, not even basic stuff like the stats or hp level of enemies.

      Anonymous

Many of those issues would had been hard to prevent, for instance you can't really stop people from going full no life, but I will never understand why Blizzard takes 0 actions towards maintaining a healthy horde/alliance balance when it is absolutely needed in order for the game to work. They never bothered with it even in retail, until in they end they took the easy way out and made it not matter by outright removing world pvp and letting you queue into battlegrounds as the opposite faction.

  3. 4 years ago
    Anonymous

It was bunch of bad decisions on Classic.

They should have released ZG, BGs and DM altogether with the first patch.

World PVP wasn't content and it was abysmal because nochangesgays who never played the game thought worldpvp would be fun after seeing a couple of pvp montages in reality it turned out what exactly real old players said a griefing clusterfrick of an experience that made the bad faction balance even worse.

It isn't because of "you think you do but you don't" people are quitting. It is because whole content release is managed horribly.

      It's fine, playing rn

im not even 60 and wow classic is the only game i have played since october. no complaints so far. my classic server is more populated than my original vanilla server was, easy to find groups, ah is stocked really good and prices are low too. also people are more relaxed and helpful than back in the day.

They didn't even bring the game back. Mechanics are from the end of classic after all the buffs and things like the debuff limit being twice what it was in real classic made Rag a joke. I really wanted another shot at the 'mathematically impossible' pre-nerf Rag but he'll go undefeated for all time it seems.

In a few years from now, the first few things that would come to mind when I look back on my experience with classic wow would be
    >bis lists
    >getting farmed by groups of 10-20 people everytime I land in any of the high level zones
    >playing with a massive number disadvantage in AV thanks to premades
    >10-15 people staying AFK/botting every AV
    >shitloads of botters in general
    >getting flamed because I'm more interested in winning the game instead of mindlessly killing NPCs for honor before everybody gives up since 'it's pointless to continue since we aren't getting honor'
    >unlearning mining because all the nodes are camped
    >not getting a single piece of loot in 6 weeks of raiding
    >rarely getting invited to groups because rogues doesn't have any aoe
    >having to pay people to tank in dungeons
    >mages and warriors
    >devilsaur mafia
    >people mass reporting a guy on my server and got him muted for days because he did enchanting work without demanding a fee
    >twitch emotes in the ingame chat
    >20 second freezes in major cities and BRM on raid nights
    >the game isn't actually hard
    >people asking for #nochanges
    >people asking for #changes because the game is busted and everyone is abusing it
    >the moment I realized how a lot of the changes (those that everyone blamed WoWs drop in quality/popularity on) that were made to retail wow in the years following vanilla actually made sense considering the issues they had to address
I wish I never played it because the knowledge that a game like this, played almost exclusively by people like that, actually exists is very disturbing

    >inb4 layering comment
If anything Layers helped the economy. It was DM Farming and having no content was what fricked up the economy.

    >Devilsaur mafia was irrelevant so people got their Devilsaur sets
    >Content is so easy you didn't even need flasks or consumes all the times

    >BUT BUT PEOPLE HOARDED MATS!!!
That was bound to happen in an already solved 15 year old game.

Layering only fricked up shit like world first that doesn't concern the whole community.

Black Lotus hoppers eventually got banned.
    Abundance of supply=/=ruined economy.
Abundance of gold however did ruin the economy which came with DM.

By the time the second-third wave of players hitting 60(who missed the SM raiding exp) layers were already down to 2.

Whoever is blaming "layers" is just parroting some stuff they have seen online that is borderline not true.

    >in classic, situation is flipped. no one does anything outside of raiding/AV. no one explores, no one has any kind of guild events, world bosses aren't even thought about, no one chats with anyone else unless its in their personal interest

My guild was full of people who play the game like a job (and still had the normal corruption dick sucking social ladder) and made it their mission to make the alliance quit so they control every facet of the server.
BGs didnt come out fast enough

I played until DM came out so I could get my warlock mount and then stopped playing

I wish people would stop playing on my server. Even being on a PvE server it's still next to impossible to farm because every decent farming spot is heavily camped. I've resorted to fishing and leveling a Mage alt so I can farm ZF because it's gotten so bad.

It was supposed to be a way for future generations and those who missed it to enjoy the game as it was before they made major changes.
Instead you got 5% of private server autists and 90% of the server that follows them ignoring half of the game because it's "suboptimal".

  30. 4 years ago
    Anonymous

I didn't play because I knew Neo-Blizz would frick it up, and they did. Avoided it like the plague and I clearly dodged a bullet. I know a guy who got his server's first TF and he did so by no-lifing the frick out of it on a server that caps out at 2k people. The problem is you can never recreate the feeling of original vanilla WoW because everyone has theorycrafted every single aspect of it to mundanity. Guilds were full clearing raids on the day they were released, they shouldn't have even tried to recreate the classic feel. They should have tried to recreate the private server feel, with the polish that their funding and man power could bring. I enjoyed Nost the most when it was peaking at 15k concurrent players, it was chaotic madness, there was not one single place you could go without running into a bunch of people and it was great. Questing was tough because of it but it also meant getting a group was stupidly easy. Being a Paladin I leveled almost entirely off of dungeon healing.
It also meant getting a raid slot was a lot easier, and because everything got cleared so fast getting your T2 was just a matter of waiting. took me like 4-5 months to get mine but across all the server transfers I must have gotten a good 2.5 year's use out of it and it was fantastic. I miss it.

Honestly the only good thing about WoW world PvP was the sheer chaos of captial cities raid as a low level
The excitement, the feeling of doing something "big" even though you'd die if you got sneezed on, the panic when the raid group moved faster than you and you were left behind with few guards left over and respawning enemy low level characters running around like headless chickens like "wtf just happened"

God I'd love if they had a PVP server that expressly didn't have an honor system. It was so much fun when people would only fight if they have to (or if they just felt like being a dick) and try to be friends the rest of the time. The lack of incentives leads to natural incentives occurring, it made PVP about honor, justice, natural supplies and territory instead of just capital Honor.
