Lance is also pretty much a globe trotting action hero in the anime (and to a lesser extent in GSC). Everything that we know about him suggests he eats, sleeps and breathes battling so the fact that he loses to fricking Diantha is moronic.
This really felt like a case of poor writing since he didnt really use much strategy compared to his battle with Leon where he has ways to counter the hyper beam recoil, knows when it's ok to trade hits to get off a DD boost and using gyarados's body to bind and attack charizard
Would you say the same if Lance loses to Cynthia or Steven? Cynthia spent most of her time researching ruins and mythical stuff while Steven is a stone nerd.
Yeah, I know. But to me the most hardcore Lance is probably the Adventures one. I know the game one is competent and strong as frick, but he always came off as though he wasn't really the apex of power in that world and maybe even that he wished he was as good as Red. Dunno where that interpretation comes from; it's been so long since I've been through HGSS and GSC that I can't cite any evidence for this, and it may just come from the fact I KNOW Red is stronger than him. But whatever
IDK, I'll stop rambling and pretending why I don't know you guys are upset cus I do. I like Diantha's set-up, but she's pretty boring and yeah, doubling as an actress should logically mean she's less powerful than someone whose whole shtick is training. I guess they just didn't want to embarrass the ladies by kicking her out first and they saw Lance as expendable because technically he's weaker than Blue/Red (the wunderkinds like you said) and already jobbed (literally) to Leon. Still sucks though. Lance vs Ash would've been awesome.
Bullshit, Lance was always a big deal. His shtick was being seemingly the toughest guy around, only behind the wunderkinds from Pallet. He also doesn't mind losing, that's more his cousin's trait.
My problem is Lance was already used to put over Leon as the toughest guy by being a really tough guy. Lance gets nothing out of jobbing to Diantha, and Leon will get nothing from beating her. Only she really benefits I guess but face it, she's advancing because we already got Lance vs Leon.

It's believable Diantha won. Gardevoir alone counters Lance's entire team but it doesn't mean he is weak for losing to the worst possible opponent for him in Masters 8.

I agree it was terrible writing. What
Because he sent Gyarados against Gourgeist and Hydreigon against Gardevoir, not vice versa.
said is spot on, it made no sense the way he wasted Gyarados on Gourgeist the single resist. Diantha was relieved Gourgeist was protected from Aqua Tail by Reflect despite the resist, so it must have been strong. He also threw Dragonite's health away on Aurorus letting it take repeat SE attacks. Gyarados could've easily decimated Aurorus and Gardevoir since it was shown to last long enough against Leon's Charizard. Dragonite could've stayed in the back for cleanup with Hydreigon dealing with Gourgeist right away instead of the bizarre delay he did. He's champion level and a previous #2 World placement, these decisions were awful and feel like they came from a random trainer. The hail chip 'strategy' was also incredibly stupid.
I get the writers probably didn't want a repeat Leon Lance fight to give someone else a chance, but the choreography could've gone much better. For instance, have Lance play super aggro with all his mons while Diantha sets up to play center boss on Gardevoir. It winds up being Lance has all 3 mons left standing while Aurorus and Gourgeist go down just working on setup.
Aurorus sets screens. Lance decides to Dragon Dance to counter her strategy. Then her Gourgeist reveals a sacrificial Trick Room and that's where the turnaround is. Gardevoir comes out and sets up a Calm Mind and reverse sweeps. Have Lance trying to stall out THAT, the Trick Room, via dodging and Dynamax, to try and regain his advantage but ultimately not succeeding to outlast. The BS the writers decided on with the Hail chip stall was so immensely stupid for a high level battle and didn't make sense.
He is a femdom chad like me
>femdom
>chad
literally one step away from being attracted to ntr
Women are meant to be pampered by men

Proposing
Disgusting by how badly these characters are handled
You seriously need to get a life anon
post gf
The anime is run by waifu perverts. Don't expect good writing, just shipping and garbage logic.
There's like 1.5 ships in the entire 20+ year old history of the anime, tops.
rest is fanbase fanfiction

Lance was never that great even back in the day. In the games he seems like much less of a big deal than the true champion and is frustrated by that.

whoops, meant to backquote you too friend
Lance and his womanchild cousin are shitters anyway.
>unga bunga multiple of the same pokemon
>unga bunga only dragon the strongest type
>unga bunga hyper beam
he deserved to lose...

100% better
that's a way better fight than clicking moves like lance 1000 elo did
Because he wants to frick her and marry her so he isn't stuck with his annoying cousin instead.
It's the Vegita genes.
>same hairline even
Holy shit
>first Lucario
>now Lance
I kneel
>AAAAAIIIIIIIIEEEEEE DIANTHA-SAMA DONT HURT MY DRAGONIAAAAAAIIIIIEEEEEEE CHORIZO
>Why did he kneel?
He just has that cuck energy, you know?
He's from Johto so he's weaker than a wet napkin.
he has a shoe fetish so he wanted to get a better look at her feet
how long till someone photoshops this pic
Why does it need to be photoshopped? It’s already 100% photographic evidence of Lance kowtowing to his superior.
Photoshop so he's not kneeling, just really short
Because he is obviously inferior? Diantha is the Alpha here and he is the lowly Beta.
Genwun cucks on suicide watch, holy shit
Simp.
he is a gentleman
Because he sent Gyarados against Gourgeist and Hydreigon against Gardevoir, not vice versa.
that's how you propose
Ash is the only good Kanto trainer
Lance .. had a rough life
AAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEE
