The layout is one of the things I'm most excited for. I fricking hate the vertical switch layout, it's awful. Having both the dpad and the stick in the primary position seems like a great idea, especially as someone who plays a lot of 2D games
I'll have to get my hands on it first, but I can't imagine it being worse than the switch layout

It's completely different, what are you on? The switch is falt and has terrible ergonomics, this is not.

the dpad and analog stick are both physical items that move, whereas the trackpad is just touch. it'd be way more uncomfortable to put the trackpad above either of them.

Quite the contrary. I have large hands and find the high analog sticks to be the most uncomfortable. Would much rather have them lower.

I always found low analog sticks extremely uncomfortable, I love the DS4 but I prefer the Switch Pro controller analog layout.
