Still a moronic item, it's less moronic than it was before but it's absolutely laughable to give a sniper an option to double his health against a class he beats 99% of the time with no discernible downside whatsoever, god forbid a sniper have to leave his sightline for 5 seconds because he somehow didn't instantly kill a pyro a million miles away who actually landed a flare. It'd be like giving pyro a melee weapon that just gives him 50% more health against explosives and make him immune to knockback
what's good is playing what you enjoy and working with you team, as long as you work with your strengths along your team's, TF2 just forces you to be a good team
Here is a simple guide
Scout: Stock/Milk or Pistol (most of his secondaries are good)/Basher
Soldier: Do whatever you want other than LibLauncer/Airstrike, Gunboats or Battallion/Whip, escape plan or market gardner
Pyro: Stock/Panic attack or scorch shot/powerjack
Demo: Stock, Iron bomber is allegedly better because of hitbox sizes?I dunno.
Heavy: Stock or Tomislav if you're a shitter/Sandwich or Banana/GRU, Tickle mittens or FoS
Engineer: RR/Wrangler/Jag is the certified shitter baby loadout
Medic: Crossbow/Medigun of choice/Ubersaw or Amputator.
Sniper: Stock or Bazaar Bargain/Jarate/Bushwacka
Spy: Stock, L'etranger or Diamondback if you wanna be a shithead / All watches are fine but DR isn't quite what it's used to be but still has use with kunai+DR setups and stock sapper

reminder that compgays have gone on record saying that certain blacklisted weapons are perfectly balanced in normal play and that they're only banned because the 6v6 meta is incompatible with them.
It could have been interesting balancing weapons by others you had equipped, but it was implemented horribly by tying them to hats as well, and generally making the stats only positive like extra health on scout or fricking headshot immunity on sniper

pyro isn't supposed to take skill. he's the class for people who are new. low barrier to entry, low skill ceiling. if you are losing to combo pyro you probably don't have very much skill

flares ain't shit to predict, i think it's one of the fastest projectiles in the game, when you're in flamethrower range it's even easier
