    It's too hard, and not as fun as 2016, which was already a flawed game. Instead of building on the good parts, they took it into a weird arcade-y direction with 10x needsless story interruptions, but the writing is way too bed to support that direction.

            Because I don’t want to be wound up moment to moment in a video game, it’s only playable with extreme focus and intensity which I no longer enjoy, the previous game is more fun while still being intense.

      Base game is great, DLC is just hard for the sake of being hard where every encounter take place in a tiny arena filled with buffed enemies spammed ad nauseum. They didn't even bother creating new enemies for the DLC, they're the same enemies that deal more damage and have more health. Pure laziness.

    I had an absolute blast playing eternal. 16 was cool but eternal just blew it out of the water. Especially the hard ass DLC. I think eternal was the last time I actually had fun playing a video game and especially satisfied when I finished the DLC.

    forced gameplay, you have to use the special guns the game forces you to use on certain enemies rather than it being organic and have to juggle 8 things at once while CHAINSAWING for ammo FLAMING for armor and using your BLOODPUNCH.

    There was nothing to post about it on Ganker. There are no politics, no unhinged anti white devs making twitter posts, no intentionally ugly characters, no live service, and it didn’t flop.

    So the only posts it got on Ganker was shazam trannies complaining that the game was literally too fun/interactive so it was mario for adults.

    When the doom slayer just let the demon talk instead of ripping his head off as soon as he got close to him, I knew the game was going to be shit.
    Which is a shame because apparently some corpo hologram was trying to make the demons the victims, and that's funny.

    Is the game really more difficult than Doom 2016?
    Because a single Imp in that game would destroy me even in Ultra Violence, but I played the first two levels of Doom Eternal in Ultra Violence and it was kind of easy. You basically have infinite life, armor and ammo.

    This game is an excellent example to me of why you never pander to crying nostalgiagays. Much of what was changed in Eternal compared to 2016. like the monster designs and more gamey elements, was all to pander to all those crying Doom fans whining about how 2016 wasn't similar enough to the old Doom games. But they weren't satisfied with that, because these people are never satisfied with anything new, they just want everything released nowadays to be exact ports of the things they played with when they were younger.

    all I know is that I had a great time playing through doom 2016 multiple times yet I cant get through eternal once. the traveling of big open spaces combined with the story not being as good as 2016s made me drop it. maybe I'll give it another try sometime.

    Not enough platforming for me tbh, Id love a challenge level where you need to GIGA ZOOM with all your tools and the Meathook shit
    There was 1 slightly challenging platforming section near the end (the one where you shoot a door open) of the base game and thats it

    I really liked the game, it's fun and the levels are cool.

    The multiplayer is shit though, instead of deathmatch with your own slayer it's garbage 2v1 monster against slayer.
