Why didn't Konami and Capcom remake the first Resident Evil and Silent Hill game? Why did both start off by remaking their second games instead?

SM was originally Silent Hill Cold Heart until Konami freaked out and had it turned into a loose remake using things you know like Harry Mason.

    1. REmake 1 came out 22 years ago, and is still the only GOOD remake of all time. Literally everything every fan has asked since, but nu-devs can't replicate no matter what.

Proof of point: Demakes of RE2-4, AitD, and SH2.

    2. Shattered Memories came out 14 years ago. It's literally a re-imagining of SH1.

    3. The longer we can keep the woke-gay Western hands of SH1, the best game in the franchise, the better.

tl;dr: nugay tourist shills once again don't know their franchise's history nor fanbase.

      >3. The longer we can keep the woke-gay Western hands of SH1, the best game in the franchise, the better.
SH2 is at much greater risk from "woke-ification", given its plot, than SH1.
SH1 what would you even wokify? Harry is basically a non entity as a character, he's just looking for his daughter and has no involvement in the cult.
The bad guy are already a mix of women and men, Lisa is already a victim of an butthole man (Kauffman).
There is no real room to make it "woke" unless they make Alessa a lesbian or whatever,.

Frick yeah, I'm implying. The remake looks and plays better than the original, the webms aren't latency related, they're animation related because the game is better animated and has more way to control Leon and do special combos and moves
              >WTF, IS LEON'S MOVEMENT LE ONE FRAME SLOWER, HURR THAT MEANS IT SUCKS!

                That's the animation homosexual kek
Leon still moves fluidly, it's the animation that makes his movement slower. Because it's a more modern game with more modern animation for it's characters. What, literal fricking seconds of animation is enough to make RE4 remake a failure? Get fricked, aspie. The game is a hit and eclipsed the original in every way.

re3 remake is a modern game with modern animations and Jill feels snappy and responsive to control

                And so does Leon, kek
Even in the webm, LEON'S movement aren't slow. They have more frames of animation for the change of direction of the movement. The other enemies were designed with that in mind too. There is nothing more autistic than saying a game is garbage because of seconds of animation. It's not a latency issue or even a lag issue, the character was just animated differently. What? That's bad? Isn't this the same fan base but gush their boypussies over tank controls and fixed camera angles? So walking around with tank controls and fixed camera angles where you literally cannot see the zombies is okay but God forbid there's a few seconds of animation.

impossible to say because the other games don't have roided zombies that can't reliably be CCd with a headshot. 4 remake and original re4 almost couldn't be more different games. remake feels like shit though

That's not what I asked, homosexual.
                But I'll humor you.
Because it's not a fixed camera angle game where the main threat is walking into the zombie and getting killed like that. Combat actually matters, kek
                >couldn't be more different games
                Holy frick you're so autistic
The remake is incredibly faithful to the original. Not very thing from the original is in the new game, but that's not what you're sperging about. You're not sperging about features or segments getting cut, you're sperging about 3 seconds of animation and slightly stronger zombies that are made so to compensate. Literally good responsible game design but it's not good for you because you're mind numbling autistic. The real reason you dislike the remake is because it's a glossier, newer version of a classic game and you're afraid it's going to replace the original so you harp on meaningless details like 3 seconds of animation to justify your unreasonably autistic opinion. But the original game is not supplanted. You can still play it and stick to it if you want. No one is forcing you to play the remake like no one is forcing anyone to play the Final Fantasy 7 remake.
Also the RE fan base has no ground to be complaining about controls after they have such a passionate boner for the tank controls and fixed camera angles. It means that you do like responsive, fun controls over cheap deaths and wonky aiming. But at least it has le atmosphere, right?

I personally think it does and I prefer it over the original, but I acknowledge that it's your choice to engage and spend your money and that the existence of these games doesn't suddenly make the prior game cease to exist. But I don't care for the autistic reasoning some anons use to denounce the new game, because it's shallow and thinly veiled seething over the remake existing at all, which I take issue with because, y'know, I like the game. If you don't like it then don't like. It don't post webms of 3 seconds of animation and then declare the new game shit and not expect pushback.

The sluggish gameplay is definitely a downgrade though. Gears of War all the way back in 2006 had a better balance.

Can you not have all of the above? The original Resident Evil trilogy plays fine. Not every game needs to be a third person shooter with sluggish- I'm sorry, "weighty" motion capture animations.

In SH2's case, it's the most popular SH and one of the most popular horror games in general. So much so that all the mainline games after Team Silent left- namely Origins, Homecoming, and Downpour- all steal at least some elements of SH2's story, to greater or lesser degrees. I think Short Message did too but I can't be assed to look shit up about it.
Also, with modern games being more focused on "cinematic storytelling", it's probably the most tempting to pick the game lauded for having the best story.
