Tbh Metal Gear should have ended after MGS2 and even then it had to jump through insane hoops to justify its existence. I could ignore the shallow drawn-out fanservice-ridden story that worsens everything that came before because the game systems are fantastic, but the actual amount of gameplay content is unfortunately far too scarce.
This game refuses to work properly for me on rpcs3 (main and custom builds), so I'm skipping it for now.
It's supposed to be the conclusion of Snake's story and won't be spoiled by the other games, so should I just wait to find out what happens till the emulator advances/it gets ported, or should I read the plot synopsis?
I know a port is unlikely, but Konami is constantly being rumored to be doing remakes of the first couple games, so they might do rereleases of the rest.
If you really want to play it, best way is to get PSNow for a month and blast through the game then cancel the subscription. You just have to be careful that MGS4 is actually on there when you plan to play it, cause sometimes it isn't always on PSNow for some stupid reason
It's either that or finding an actual PS3 and a copy of the game on the cheap
I liked it
I just wish it got a next gen upgrade or something as the PS3 kinda struggled, would've been better if the skirmishes between npcs were larger but that was a hardware limitation too
I kinda liked it, but... Like so many others have said before, not enough gameplay and way too many cutscenes. Finished the entire game the first time around just running around, guns blazing - don't think you could pull that shit in any of the other mainline MGS entries? Also, at the time when I was playing it, I was trying to quit smoking. Snake was fricking mocking me while the game was loading, "haha yeah man stare at this ciggy as I slowly get my nicotine fix".
it never left the piss3
You can play it with a custom build RPCS3 no problem

Okay, how does this work? Do you just set it up like the normal RPCS3 and then get the MGS4 iso?
Yeah. You just need a 4.87 firmware specifically
15 fps
Having to install every chapter
Billion cutscenes
Cringey as frick
Get the 2.0 version

I liked it but there were too many damn cutscenes that broke up the actual gameplay.
Why didn't you hate it?
I don't know yet, it's still loading.
I loved it.
Everyone did in 2008.
Because it was the PS3's first big game
I did, it was my first MGS game and while the story is a bit meh the gameplay is solid.
Had some fun pissing around in MGO2 as well.
>Had some fun pissing around in MGO2 as well.
MGO2 was fricking based, Team Sneak was kino
?t=26
i did though
Snake and Ocelets kiss wasnt intense enough
I did. MGO2 was some of the most fun I've ever had in gaming.

I guess I'd at least get to play bloodborne if I did that.
For sure you need to get PSNow if you haven't played both MGS4 and Bloodbourne. Best games of PS3 and 4
I liked it
