Stellaris is annoying. They had a really great system but completely overhauled whatever they had at some point to the point where the game plays completely differently now. A lot of the features for me don’t even seem to work now, like the automatic management of systems, planets, etc.
Stellaris proves why a grand strategy developer making 4X games is a bad idea, they think overfilling the game with events is good content, it just makes the game annoying to slog through. I also think it looks, sounds and overall feels very generic, so yeah like most PC games released in the modern times

The new economy system for Stellaris could have been good if it was designed to push you into trade or war with other empires. Instead of giving every empire an infinite supply of resources in the galactic market they should have to go find other empires with a surplus of the resource they need and trade for it. Or declare war for planets that are rich in something, because they're actually valuable. Synthetic advanced materials should also either not be available or much more expensive, and instead tech should make extracting natural nodes more effective over time so that some empires can actually have a significant portion of galactic gas or other materials.
This still wouldn't fix ship combat being spectacle with little substance, but at least there would be an organic reason why empires would get along or feud.

I played EU4 for about 150 hours and I felt that 0 minutes were spent on real strategy. The game keeps you busy with a lot of decisions but strategically, at least for me, it is extremely poor.
Like, a 10 minute backgammon match makes me make more strategic decisions than 150 hours of Europa Universalis IV.

I don't like cheating or using OP mods in singleplayer games. Not on principle, it just always makes me lose interest immediately. I only have a problem understanding the base mechanics and gameplay loop of these types of games, sort of a fundamental issue I'll only ever be able to circumvent rather than solve. I know people who have been to North Korea unsupervised and they told me it's not half as bad as people say, they're basically stuck in the 60's Soviet Union and most of their issues are caused by the total embargo on them by the US.
I went too, it was great. Had no trouble getting in, was able to use the internet with no restrictions, watch whatever I wanted on the TV, I was allowed to say whatever I wanted about Kim Jong Un, and allowed to leave freely whenever I wanted. North Korea is truly a superior country.

I just recently got into Hoi4 just to play the Fallout mod. And the start was not pretty, I can easily see it filter most anons, let alone normies.

It's the modernization disease. I prefer AoW4 mechanically but the campaign left a lot to be desired. Art isn't the only issue.
