Drifter and loader are the strongest characters and it's not even close. Bandit, HAN-D and Arti are probably the weakest
What's so good about Drifter?
Their alt secondary is bugged or something, it deals an obscene amount of damage and can instakill worms. It also draws agro and has more health than fartificers icewall. Their primary is also just a straight up better version of han-d's.
HAN-D is an easy win, sure its not the strongest character, but he's not weak.
If drones didn't disappear after teleporting he'd be one of the best characters, but the fact he has to spend a little time each stage just farming drones means he quickly gets outscaled

The most important changes to Artificer actually being able to kill things were the change to the bands being damage-based and the addition of ignition tank.
It's actually impressive how Hopoo saw all the negative feedback for her in RoR2 and decided to make her suck dick in RoRR too.

RoR Returns really made feel the item bloat per rarity, having a way to deactivate drop rates on certain items is a must at this point
i don't get the praise either, acrid and chef are the easiest survivors to play and win with

I got an amazing run with engineer and nearly beat the last boss but died to his JO crystal cause it was my first time and I thought I could take the hit. My turrets were icy, bled enemies, spewed fireballs on each shot, fired missiles, and they made electric novas while healing eachother at the same time while I just fly around with multiple double jumps.
I will never fricking get a engineer run that fun ever again.
