It bothers me that they wasted the opportunity to give him a visual upgrade and instead just threw dirt on his clothes. Some sort of indication of the synthesis that is V and Vergil would've been Nice. It sucks that Vergil feels so similar to all his previous iterations despite the (arguable) narrative and physical changes other characters went through. That is a greater problem with DMCV is that on a single run it's an enjoyable experience, but after a couple playthroughs you focus on more than gameplay and the narrative parts of the game really fall through. Also Nero's DT should've been purple

Pretty much. I could see the purple be like the visual representation of the actualization of two ideals; a man who is vulnerable and loves the people around him, but also has the strength to protect them. That or a white DT to give him a more saint-ish or angelic look. Something to show he's transcended the Sparda bloodline and the central conflict of the story would've been nice. DMCV in general gives me DS3 vibes in the sense that it's too fricking fanservice not enough innovative/passing of the torch.

I just don't like the realistic aesthetic DMCV has going to begin with. Nero looks ugly too. I'd much rather have an animeish aesthetic like what 3 and 4 had going.

I main complaint I've seen is that he doesn't look like Dante's twin. But seeing what modders have done with the face swap that's a good thing, neither faces fit the other. If they had to look alike they would have to completely redo their faces
Because DMCV's art direction is one of the ugliest things ever made that isn't western because it was trying to emulate western shit.

He's got amazing presentation. Superficially he's great, but his story comes off as mommy issues and ends up killing a lot of innocent people because of it.
yeah Vergil got a lot of people killed in 5. in 3 people probably died from Temen-Ni-gru rising/demons coming out but that seemed like a byproduct of what he was doing and not the goal. dude is messed up.
