Ask yourself does anyone actually give a shit about Pac Man anymore? Would they buy a modern 3D Pac Man game? You know the answer is no. Not true for Sonic.
Pokemon had Legends Arceus come out recently and by the sole virtue of having a single decent game come out recently it already mogs every single thing to the right of it
It's balanced by sheer fricking success. You're just watching Pikachu perpetually choke on it's own farts since it's the face if one of a handful of franchises that can get away with it.
I wouldn't put Yo-Kai so far to the right. There was some mismanagement but most of the franchise's failure is just down to how it was a mediocre idea with limited broad appeal outside Japan. Even under the best circumstances it was doomed to be a flash in the pan.
>full decade of only soulless "new" titled games >The best spinoff games (Mario RPGs) extremely cucked because of weird Miyamoto autism for the last 16 years >Axed Charles >Green lit dogshit nonsensical kids movie made by the worst popular animation studio in the industry >Mario sports games have been complete dogshit for the entire last generation. The only notably good one is a previous gen port that they won't let die
Miyamoto had nothing to do with Paper Mario going down the shitter, He even gave feedback to Sticker Star once they started changing it in response to his "criticism" and he said it was fricking boring.
>full decade of only soulless "new" titled games
With the only one that was actually bad being NSMB2 >The best spinoff games (Mario RPGs) extremely cucked because of weird Miyamoto autism for the last 16 years
Yeah, though I'd contribute that more to Tanabe than Miyamoto, since he's actually active in the games' developments >Axed Charles
The guy retired from doing the voicework, he's still on their pay, calm down >Green lit dogshit nonsensical kids movie made by the worst popular animation studio in the industry
It was fun, that's all it needed to be >Mario sports games have been complete dogshit for the entire last generation. The only notably good one is a previous gen port that they won't let die
Yeah, though I wouldn't say that about Aces
>>full decade of only soulless "new" titled games
Not only were there only 4 new games, not counting the switch port, we also had galaxy 1, galaxy 2, 3d land and 3d world.
Not to mention it was only 6 years from the release of NSMB 1 to U or 2 I forget which came out first but they were both 2012. Not counting maker 2d Mario has been dormant for over a decade.
That said while they were visually generic none were bad games. >>The best spinoff games (Mario RPGs) extremely cucked because of weird Miyamoto autism for the last 16 years
Miyamoto hasn't been on a Mario rpg since ttyd, it's Tanabe who fricked up everything ironically because he disobeyed miyamoto.
Also it's debatable that they're the best spin off and the rpg remake is coming this year. >>Axed Charles
He's getting old anon, he can't even do half of his voices properly anymore. Have you heard his Wario recently? He's still on the payroll anyway.
lit dogshit nonsensical kids movie made by the worst popular animation studio in the industry
This isn't a bad thing. Also it wasn't made by modern pixar.
sports games have been complete dogshit for the entire last generation. The only notably good one is a previous gen port that they won't let die
I don't even know what sports game you're talking about that said they've been on the ball with them recently. Even Mario and Sonic has seen major improvements.
Tennis Aces is the best Mario Tennis game we've had since Power.
>Release your final game a week after Halo 2 while being exclusive to the same platform.
Blinx should be the furthest to the right out of everyone here.
Blinx had potential but he came in at the wrong time when mascot platformers were on the downswing. Had a pretty decent design and the time cop gimmick was cool. Deserves another chance.
The first game had the charm of looking like an actual cartoon, It's just that better games like Earthworm Jim and Crash Bandicoot came out not long after and surpassed Bubsy in pretty much every conceivable way, and were damn good games to boot.
>The first game had the charm of looking like an actual cartoon
This wasn't at all unique to Bubsy, man. Dozens of other mascot platformers, most of them better than Bubsy, came out the same year. Bubsy had nothing unique about him other than mediocre cat puns. That being said, the first game isn't even close to the worst mascot platformer to come out that year. Fricking High Seas Havoc came out that year and is a crime against God.
>pac man ahead of sonic
Namco is shit and they passed Pac Man around like a prostitute.
Ghostly Adventures literally killed the franchise for the remainder of the 2010's.
Ask yourself does anyone actually give a shit about Pac Man anymore? Would they buy a modern 3D Pac Man game? You know the answer is no. Not true for Sonic.
World Re-Pac was the best selling Pac-Man title since CEDX on Steam, not even joking.
OP is weirdly obsessed with Pac Man and how mascots are 'managed,' he makes at least one thread a day on it.
Now featuring Dante again
Why is Yokai Watch there? I thought it was popular in Japan
big emphasis on the was there
I cannot look at that Pac Man art without thinking "Cry me a river, dickface".
Move Megaman all the way to Bubsy, we NFT now.
Pokemon needs to be moved way further to the right
it's quite literally the most profitable franchise in human history. The games are relatively shit but let's not get crazy
Pokemon had Legends Arceus come out recently and by the sole virtue of having a single decent game come out recently it already mogs every single thing to the right of it
Legends arceus is only decent in comparision to the garbage that came before
but they do have a good new anime so that's something

Probably need another axis relative to their actual, current success (or lack of it) today.
Mario is extremely mismanaged
How so?

You can't mismanage something that never had a single lick of potential to begin with.
The first game had the charm of looking like an actual cartoon, It's just that better games like Earthworm Jim and Crash Bandicoot came out not long after and surpassed Bubsy in pretty much every conceivable way, and were damn good games to boot.

An actual moron made this
