I've seen threads where people say the original levels are overly long clusterfricks and that it just rehashes Genesis levels for the rest. I don't really agree with this take, but I've seen it multiple times.
>nothing to hate
I don't like Press Garden Act 1's OST. I feel like it needs a bit more "you're in a newspaper printing factory" feel to it.
I hope if they ever make a new Sega racing game Press Garden makes it in as a track. Imagine racing through with Kiryu and suddenly a newspaper with "Goro Majima destroys local business in Kamurocho!" flies by. It'd be an easter egg wonderland. But yeah, probably with the Studiopolis songs.
Perhaps, it does sound more like a factory in a ice forest level wasn't exactly the original idea with the music in mind
Likely because pic related is how it went down
I gotta admit when you break out of the factory and find its a japanese snow level I genuinely smiled. Sad that no trace of Act 1's factory remains for Act 2, though, since the whole "Press" aspect of it was pretty fun.
Ganker seems to enjoy it. I, however, feel like it represents the Arin Hanjobian and the Reddit crew's revisionist history on the origins and strengths of Sonic. Most notably, the Westside notion of Sonic being a family friendly Mario clone who's gimmick is only going fast is a great lie. Sonic is actually the allophysical manifestation of the Platonic Sigma Male, who goes his own way and which brings about the Jesus rebellion alliance on the four corner axiomatic compound grid. His games are in many respect, vanguard, trying new things his adversaries wouldn't dare, with Sonic 06 being one of the most misunderstood yet kino experiments of all time. Sonic Mania represents the opposite of this, it represents complacency, a retreading of old, very much beta male energy and CalArts animation which makes the experience to a sigma male like me alienating and insulting.
This is the gayest post I've ever seen anyone write about anything but the one kernel of truth in there is that there has been a revisionist lens pointed at the Classic series for some time now. The modern depiction of classic sonic is a wholesome and quirky cute character with a bit of sass, rather than someone designed in a lab by a marketing team to be 'mario if he edgy'
I think its in a weird position where its good, its a good platformer, but the fact that it was followed up by Sonic Team fricking it up royally with Forces has elevated it to an unreasonable status.
People complained about modern Sonic sucking for a long time. Suddenly there's a good game in the series that utilizes classic gameplay. Now the jap team that fricked things up a trillion times fricks up again with a modern game. It all plays into the narrative too well.
It's either just buttblasted Modern/Adventuregays still seething at the fact that their game was shit compared to Mania, or garden variety Ganker contrarians.
No adventure gay in their right mind would say Forces is a good game you strawmanning moronic wienersucker. Forces is a mediocre piece of fricking shit that pleased neither classic pedos or adventure chads.

What is the best sonic game then?
That's subjective. But SA1, 2, Heroes, Shadow and Unleashed are 100x better than Mania.
There is nothing wrong with it, it's a good game that I had fun replaying. Nobody hates it. There are people who hate what it has done to the fanbase though.
True. I mean, it's not a bad game, but what it's done to the fanbase is horrible. The moronic classic gays have gotten all uppitty and arrogant, saying stupid shit like "BEST SANIC IN 20 YEERS!". Because of this, it would have been better if the game never released at all.
>Heroes, Shadow and Unleashed are 100x better than Mania.
You don't actually believe this. I get Heroesbabies liking their first videogame ever more but Shadow? Come on, man.
I don't recall Mania having extremely bad collision detection on average, half ass classic physics like the Adventures had, forced combat like in Heroes, Shadow and Unleashed, and literal fricking slow down like in Unleashed.
Just stick to Frontiers homosexual, and frick off out of my Mania thread.

Mania is nostalgiabait the game. Filled with memberberries for boomers
I don't.
Ganker here. I don't.
I dont
I've never seen anyone here shit on it. The only people who do are Sonic Team themselves (and their diehard loyalists).
I've seen threads where people say the original levels are overly long clusterfricks and that it just rehashes Genesis levels for the rest. I don't really agree with this take, but I've seen it multiple times.
I love the game but some of the stages feel a little long
Flying battery zone especially
It's the best sonic game, there's nothing to hate

Studiopolis Act 2 did the best job at giving that breaking news broadcast feel. The beginning is amazing.
Is iy pronounced Study-ah-polis or studio-polis?
Neither. It's studi-opolis
Hidrossity chads where we at?
Right here bro, it's studio-opolis.
Meh trop olis. Sand op olis. Not Metro polis or Sando polis
So it's Studi op olis.

Nobody with any sense would shit on mania. You should try saying SA2 is shit when you bait next time, that'll catch some fish
I hate that hedgehog.
No one does, homosexual
i'm Ganker actually and i confirm it's shit because sonic mechanics were never good
>Why does SoJ hate it?

You'll get a similar experience from something like after the sequel. It's not great.
doesn't matter if you are joking this is almost completely accurate.
No its fricking not moron

I liked it however it just made the sonic fan base more obnoxious

e celebs like it
Because most people enjoy it. It makes the Gankerirgin feel like "le independent thinker" to be a contrarian.
It's either just buttblasted Modern/Adventuregays still seething at the fact that their game was shit compared to Mania, or garden variety Ganker contrarians.
DIE PEDO DIE

Pfffft. Every single time
>Heroes, Shadow and Unleashed are 100x better than Mania
Up against the wall, please.

>Shadow
Biggest bait of all time
Holy shit you are so salient, keep it up alpha male.
Being masculine is not bait, irony poisoned redditors cannot understand.
what a Black person your are holy shit
What is the best sonic game then?
Watch him say SA2
homie gonna say forces
Rush Adventure
The only good sonic game since 3&k
There is nothing wrong with it, it's a good game that I had fun replaying. Nobody hates it. There are people who hate what it has done to the fanbase though.
Proof that people here are contrarian ironic freaks that can only jerk off to so-bad-it's-good lolcow schizo shit.
Only boostgays hate it. Sonic mania has one problem (reuses old stages too much) but its still the best sonic game weve had in years.
Ganker doesn't.
Because Ganker is a place for contrarians to spout inflammatory, incorrect opinions without fear of being tied to their hot takes.
I dont hate it, its just overrated. Too much reused content. People are fricking crazy about it because the rest of modern Sonic games are that bad.
>than all fo you.
