He's a revolutionary larper who dragged everyone to hell for his ideals. That's expensive bullshit.
rockstar kinda underestimated the earnings of players
How? They accidentally decided to give something like 2,000 dollars from the bank job?
>the reward for being a low honor thieving murdering outlaw is mostly just the money you get
>its a pittance compared to the money you make hunting
>hunting doesn't even require you to hunt, the animals just horde around you like you're a disney princess
not to mention shit like catalogues being locked by mission progress instead of money
its two games in a row where they had access to the time period where sub-dollar amounts actually meant something and ballsed it up royally
but is 43k enough to house, feed and clothe 10 people and 10 horses for the next 75 years?
I think so honestly dont you think ?
40k or so would've been worth over a million back then. Given the cost of living was low back then and people averaged 1.5k adjusted bucks a year in wages, yes, 1 mil would've been more than enough for all of them
>$43,000 in 1899 is worth $1,535,105.18 today
Looks like someone doesn't know what economics is
I don't know economics, do explain?
Give me your money.

he doesnt want to sit around and grow fricking mangos.
There unironically needed to be a secret ending where if you donate enough money everyone actually goes to Tahiti and the game ends
And then Dutch realizes that the real Tahiti doesn't live up to the Tahiti in his head.
HE'S GOT LUMBAGO
ARTHUR WE HAVE TO CREATE A WHITE ETHNOSTATE ON TAHITI
Red Dead 3 will take Jack Marston to Australia.
Frick off we’re full
give lenny and charles a nice severance, hang tilly and micah
He had enough money to escape with everyone locked away in a chest and an escape route multiple times, but he couldn't stand the idea of actually doing it and losing his sense of purpose so he kept making up excuses until it was too late. The gang always had an out, Dutch was the only one the Pinkerton's wanted and he could've let the others live safely at any moment while trying to escape himself.
He's a stubborn idealist in a world that doesn't have a place for people like him, rather than change and adapt he chose to blame others and play pretend as a righteous gunslinger until he damned himself. That's the recurring theme of the games. John had an out as well, but damned himself and his son by seeking revenge.
>i already have 43k
>i
He doesn't know
They should have gone east
Because he really had no plan, he was a sociopathic narcissist and master manipulator. None of the shit he said he was actually about. He just liked lying and having "loyal" people around him that fed into it and supported him.
this
funny how many Gankerermin fail to realize this because they lack basic social aptitude and think of Dutch as some kind of an idealist
I've known some people like Dutch IRL and it's either you run away as fast as you can or you risk jail by bashing their fricking head in
>you run away as fast as you can or you risk jail by bashing their fricking head in
Or the only way around, a lot of these people have violent tendencies they will follow through with, it's the psychopathy and lack of impulse control that was even shown in the game.
You follow them around and watch them do things. Sure you might lose a few thousand or get a gun shoved in your face, or maybe arrested. But the experience itself is fun on a bun. I like crazy sociopaths like Dutch. As long as you don't fall for the bullshit then it's a riot!
Dutch reminds me of all the obsessed cryptobros I've met through the last two years
OARTHUR
WE NEED MORE DOGECOIN
YOU NEED TO TRUST ME, IT'S THE BEST INVESTMENT WE CAN MAKE RIGHT NOW
WE JUST NEED A LITTLE MORE DOGECOIN, AND WE'LL BE GROWING MANGOES ON THE MOON OARTHUR
WHAT "BITCOIN ALREADY HIT 20k$", ARTHUR?
SHOW. SOME. FAITH.
TRUST THE PLAN, WE ARE GONNA BE RICH. NOW SELL YOUR APARTMENTS AND LETS BUY. THE. DIP.
For reals, what if bitcoin jumps up to 80 thousand a year or two from now, what then? I'll be expecting an apology from you guys then, you know?
More likely investors will jump out of 80 floor building
Sure, but what if it goes up go 80 thousand or more? Will you frickers apologize?
>what if my scam makes ME money?
Answer my question.
>what if the world was made of pudding
I bought in at 18K and sold that shit at 3K. Ut ain't never going up again.
I think he had a "plan" in the past that failed, and he never mentally moved on from being the one in control of his fate. The way the characters talk about Dutch before the Blackwater massacre makes him seem a lot more competent.
No, he didn't. You're exactly like the kind of person he'd pull in.
He’s using you isn’t it fricking obvious?
If he had an actual plan it would’ve been doable, this guy seemed to live in Tahiti with no problems
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Gauguin
Gauguin was pretty based, all he did was bang underage native women when he moved to Tahiti. Charles Châtenay was mostly based on Gauguin.
The in game book "An American Eden" had a large influence on Dutch. If you read it you'll get why he wanted what he did. Later in the game you can find the author and he confesses it's all made up a lot of his experiences.
Why did Dutch keep Micah around for so long going so far as to trust him more than everyone else? Dude made money but was shifty and reckless from the start.
>Dude made money
There ya go.
Thinking about it Dutch probably liked how destructive Micah was, if it was just money he would've made a more quietly profitable guy like Bill his new right hand.
Micah and Dutch are birds of a feather
Micah IS Dutch without the bullshit meme mask
Guess what dutch really wanted was a yes man that would obey his every command and be his personal "homie"?
pretty much, but being an insatiable narcissist, the best chord Micah struck was appeasing Dutch's ego by complimenting him
At one point he literally comes down to Dutch and calls him "amazing", there's several instances of this in your face ball licking in the game, usually random camp scenes
Dutch was in a small way outplayed by a slightly better sociopath
Dutch wanted loyalty above all, micah was always a dickrider even when the rest started to doubt him.
Micah also saved Dutch’s life once and he probably felt kinship from that as well.
Really makes ya think. After all that ass-kissing, it still wasn't enough. Dutch is one illoyal fricking bastard.
>kills Micah
>refuses to elaborate further
>leaves gold behind and never seen again until RDR1
What did Dutch mean by this?
He figured out Arthur was right all along about Micah and went there for revenge, same as John. As for the money, I could never come up with a good reason as the game leaves it up to your imagination. Maybe he was just cutting his life away from everything involving the old gang, Blackwater money included.
>As for the money, I could never come up with a good reason as the game leaves it up to your imagination.
Maybe it's just shit writing and shit ending, anon.
Beats me. Guess the game had to end, somehow? Rockstar probably wanted him to get some sort of epiphany and suddenly decide to do "the right" thing.
>betray your livelong partner/son
>listen to some homosexual you barley knew
wow
TAHITI? TIMBUKTU?
would have ardhurs tuberculosis been cured or at least slowed down if he had gotten to tahiti in time?
in ye olden days, people with tb in their lungs would move to warmer and more humid countries to mend it
No, humidity actually fricks you up and encourages the infection. That's why Arthur's symptoms get so much worse after he gets back from Guarma.
The historical recommendation was to move to warmer and DRIER areas. So if the gang went back west Arthur might have lived longer.
>That's why Arthur's symptoms get so much worse after he gets back from Guarma.
Isn't it because of untreated fact of being in cold water for some unspecified time?(when he jumped from the shipwreck)
That added to it. Arthur was living a pretty shitty rough and tumble life that certainly didn't contribute to his health and that's probably why his disease progressed so fast.
R* has always had the problem with the player's money balooning to ridiculous values. It's especially bad in RDR2 because the game is suppose to be partially a survival sim.
How the frick did you get that much, the most i've had at once in the game was like $6000.
I'M MOVING TO TAHITI
GONNA EAT A LOT OF MANGOES
Keep playing you'll figure it out real soon.
I give this game a 7/10 instead of 8/10 just because there's not a secret ending when you make a lot of money. It's so absurd, the entire story goes to shit just with that.
