He wasn't killed, but was made old and pretty much permanently put in a time out, and now we have a Nick Fury Jr, looking conveniently like the one in the hit show The Secret Wars!

616 Nick Fury is back just havent appeared in anything after that Watcher event. Black Nick Fury is still around but he is pretty much irrelevant. Not even the head of SHIELD nor holds any high ranking government position. Basically just a glorified SHIELD agent/spy.
