It really didn't. You see the pattern in data pipeline frameworks, game scripting(most large custom engines have some implementations so teams can script events easily), and lab test setups.
Basically, anytime you need to rig something up fast that is either highly abstracted(data pipelines) or custom(if you need a custom lab test setup for serial devices labview is FRICKING GREAT) then you see visual scripting.
Also, plenty of devs just "Make Do" with it like Choo-choo Charles, make of that what you will.

What kind of hardware do you guys have? I only have a 1070ti and a Ryzen 5 2600 and both these games run great for me. Obviously the hardware should be overkill for how the graphics look but still.
