2002 had a bunch of silly animations like that in the ending credits (one of the few soulful things about that game), that's obviously not a real one though
/vr/ talks about them but not in the typical hyper-competitive fgc way, its usually either about the impact they had back then, appreciating the whole game than just the 1v1 aspect and the usual "my fav fighting game>your fav fighting game" fanboy-shit flinging.
Its pretty much impossible to play most of these retro fighters with anyone nowadays, even fightcade doesnt support a whole lot. Most of the content is packed in the single player anyway, I play modern fighting games too so its not like im completely mindless mashing buttons or anything
Agreed. The same can be said for any multi-player game of any kind. Playing a set of computer algorithms is never going to be anywhere near as interesting or fun as playing a living thinking human.

And yet that's all I will ever know of most games. The only time I really complain is when a fighting game has multiplayer ONLY characters.

That's why I said what probably came across as trolling but I meant it sincerely that I feel bad for you not getting to experience the full potential of how fun these games are.

It is what it is, there's games I have that even only support multiplayer through link cable, something I would definitely love to experience but it's too tall an order to ask for.

This is what
Some sperg will inevitably come in and say "why? There's no point unless you play another person".
VS CPU masterrace.
was talking about. Preferring to play fighting games against other people isn't a problem. Being a condescending prick about it is.
No, I think I'm having a lot more fun just beating up CPU in various ways with various characters rather than getting destroyed by a sweatlord who uses the most unfun tactics available, just so he can win.
I do enjoy playing locally against the few friends that I have though.

Nta but I haven't seen any alpha 3 fightcade lobby that isn't full of sweats doing V-ism infinite bullshit. I only play public lobbies with random pubs if I know the game like the back of my hand or it's brand new.
Speaking of, what is your ideal single player mode? >Mission based (SFA3, SC) >Story Mode (Jojo) >Wildly rearranged gameplay style (Tekken, Ehrgeiz, Abalaburn, Tobal >Boss-based (Red Earth) >good ol fashioned Arcade Mode >Something else I didn't mention
Tourney-gay here, i agree that good single player in fighting games is underrated. I don't like playing vs arcade mode that much, but i love stuff like Soul Calibur's or VF4's Quest Mode.
The problem with fighting game discussion is that modern gays only ever want to talk about the same two game series and it's almost always in context of jacking off some streamer pro gamer homosexuals instead of the games themselves.
I don't know hat the frick you mean, I always felt like fighting games were one of the most discussed genres here
This, we talk about them much more than shmups over the years.
If devs had complete freedom he would definitely have a rape attack
Most definitely
What's this one from again?
It's not actually from anything, just a gif I made ages and ages ago. But I got the tentacle thing from K9999's Tetsuo arm special.
haha! I knew i recognised that tentacle, just couldn't place it.
I just realized somewhat to my horror that I made that gif fully 20 years ago now

I've never been into fightan games but it's tempting to find an active retro one on fightcade to get into
/vr/ talks about them but not in the typical hyper-competitive fgc way, its usually either about the impact they had back then, appreciating the whole game than just the 1v1 aspect and the usual "my fav fighting game>your fav fighting game" fanboy-shit flinging.
i like them but i don't play that many fightan games cus i don't have too many people to play with and playing solo is kinda pointless
I just got into fighting games this year I only wish I started sooner, I'll be near 30 by the time I play all the ones I want to play
They need too much skill compared to the skilless memory based shumps.
Fgc ruins them so nobody cares to discuss fighting games
We had a huge Real Bout thread some weeks ago.
Real Bout=Fatal Fury>

Lol I legitimately feel bad for people like yoy
And I feel bad for gays like you, that miss out on kino single player cutscenes
It's not like I never get to see them. But by only playing a computer you will never know how fun the genre can really be.

I haven't seen any wildly re-arranged mode since the late 90's. I miss those.

What do you mean? Look at this dude
https://warosu.org/vr/thread/10268074
How would you rate arina's game? And whats your favorite character?
I like the police mecha in that a lot. He's got some bullshit that made my friend who usually beats me throw his controller.
What is STG?
swear to god baka boomer keep up with the times frfr
We have threads all the fricking time you wiener brain. What we DON'T talk about, however, is whatever gay FGC bullshit streamer gays are on about

i was heavy frickin with the last blade series before that
i play in japanese stoned

You need free time to practice fighting games. Every one on /vr/ skews older
