People born after 1995 barely know who the three stooges even are so a new Three Stooges game would be bought by maybe a handful of old boomer gamers
I legit thought about making a b&w fighting game with the stooges, marx brothers, laurel and hardy, abbott and costello, chaplin, and buster keaton
I love em but I really doubt anyone under 40 knows them or can even stand to watch one of the little films full.
The gags themselves are hard to structure as a game and are probably better off as film, either you get a loose interpretation of a specific gag like the NES games, have something really structured like a Neighbors from Hell game, or just mention their IPs in something else like what does.
That last one worked for Tom and Jerry, maybe make the Stooges like a Pokemon Trainer type character where you go between them

gameplay would be like superhot but you control 3 characters at once. and youre not always trying to defeat bad guys. sometimes you have to coordinate traffic to ensure the people playing pingpong on the back of a pickup truck arent interrupted or get a cat out of a tree or some some animal is knocking over a bunch of expensive vases and plates and you have to catch them all before they hit the ground by throwing them between the stooges.
so they would look unusually competent in the game world, but your various frick ups would still make them stooges.

90% of Hollywood was part of the tribe in the black and white era, especially comedy. It was more of an open joke back then instead of a scary conspiracy like now
