Unfortunately they said they're taking a break from Nioh. Ronin, while fun, isn't the same. Doesn't have the same build autism and is only on PS5 which not many people on Ganker have.
I'd drop some money on ronin if it ports. Wasn't big on wo long though. Nothing comes close to the blend of build and loot autism alongside a very engaging and customisable combat system that nioh had though. I recently replayed it on my Steam Deck and can never get enough. Maybe a year or two from now team ninja...

William Adams being the main character of Nioh 1 was specifically so that the player character could be a protagonist from another place and have all the lore and history dumped on him. In the game, just like in real life, he is and was considered a foreigner who got stuck but adapted and made himself useful. It was not framed as "EXPLORE JAPAN AS THE LEGENDARY WHITE SAMURAI". It was also, you know, fricking made by Japanese people, and not french canadians with a bestiality fetish.

William Adams actually did things that had an impact on japanese history and they felt his actions were worthy to write down. The only thing worthy of note that was written down about Yasuke was that he was black. Not a single deed or action of his made it into the history books.

playing an asscreed with him sounds like a slog tho. Parkouring in big cities and picking out targets is the only thing this series does decently, just walking around playing a slow soulslike combat but with unsatisfying animations doesn't sound fun.
