Bad actors lied about the rmt dlc in the game, claiming it was the only way to do certain things in game. Everyone decided that it was true (it isn’t) and now people who know nothing about the game only hear the lie and write it off. Source: talking about it in my free company
Also, it has bad performance on pc, and people who only do the main story quest are surprised and upset you can do it in a few hours, just like the first one.
This one makes me so annoyed. Of you're going to b***h about the game then do it about the performance, that's warranted. The mtx is such a stupid thing to be mad about, what never seen a Capcom game in the last ten years? Both monster hunters, dmc5 etc all have the same mtx bs, dmc5 a bit worse since you can just buy red orbs, and mh:w with its $500 worth of mtx. But none of that it's critizied lol absolutely sheep.
dd1 is a niche game that's only good if you lower your standards.
dd2 is a niche game that's only good if you lower your standards but with modern graphics.
Its the new cope, 2 its basically a remix of the first release, some parts better and other are worse, so now they are going with "well the first one was bad too".
>less vocations and no epic raid like bosses as in dragons dogma online >nearing endgame and no sign of an endgame expansion like dark arisen >ng+ doesnt scale enemies at all just like the first game
dd2 doesnt live up to dark arisen at the current state of things, maybe after they add more content it will, game needs hard mode, endgame, and ng+ enemy scaling
the biggest problem I have so far is that enemies barely attack, so even though the game is getting mods that fix a lot of the stuff, that seems like it will keep the game mid forever
I wonder if that is an adaptive difficulty thing? Enemies are super aggressive for me, i usually spent the entire fight spamming counter slash. Sometimes i run out of stamina because enemies just won't stop attacking.
It honestly needs BETTER vocations, not necessarily more. In 2's system, yes it needs more, but Dark Arisen's vocations as a whole were much better. 2's set of vocations feels so unfinished and gimped.
One good thing to come out of this disappointment of a game is consoleBlack folk making themselves look even more moronic than normal by having worse performance than the already unacceptably bad pc port and not even realizing it.
Capcom is moronic and hypes and markets niche series like this and MonHun to the normie masses.
To appeal to normies they dumb down aspects of the game that made it popular to the niche playerbase to attract more new customers.
This moronic action that is probably decided by suits in a boardroom ruins rhe series.
Dragon's Dogma wasn't a game for everyone. Dragon's Dogma 2 probably isnt for "anyone" because game studios are fully fricking moronic in 2016+8
moronic secondaries that never played launch DD1 and laughably thought DD2 was going to be different. That and normies only now waking up to Capcom's decade old DLC practices
Series was always AA at best, but a good AA.
The issue is most of the enemies even when different are identical to fight. There's no appreciable difference between all the goblins or wolves. You don't really need to change your tactics for an ogre or cyclops.
Combat is actually really boring, almost mindless, and centered more around using your vocation skills than adapting and reaxting to an opponent
People wanted DD1 but more fleshed out with more content and closer to Itsuno’s original vision with an actual budget.
Instead we found out Itsuno is a hack who couldn’t even surpass his creation from a decade ago, it’s fricking wild to me that this game can’t even surpass DD let alone Dark Arisen.
Strange, isn't it?
DD1 is an amazing game that left me hungry for more.
DD2 is a game that has me feeling so mixed I'm not even sure if I want an expansion at this point.
Yeah Dark Arisen is a genuinely good game, DD2 does some things better but is worse in a lot of ways.
Wait until they release a Dark Arisen equivalent for DD2 and see if the game is in a better state then imo.
>lack of enemy variety >lack of enemy difficulty >lack of endgame content >lack of story >lack of depth or detailed characters >decrease in vocations vs first >many vocations are similar and lack uniqueness. >vocations each only have like 10 skills, plus 10 additional upgraded versions >classes can't use more weapons >different currencies >microtransactions in a singleplayer game >anti cheat in a singleplayer game >half-assed systems (Dragonplague) >bad balancing which probably won't be fixed >world seems alive at first but quickly becomes repetitive >less skills can be equipped (went from 8 to 4, really?) >bosses suck
My issue is games are supposed to build and expand upon their predecessor. All DD2 did was make the map way bigger, update graphics to okayish modern standards and some more "quests". But in return you lost a lot.
>shit performance and mtx at launch >lots of missing vocations and skills >removal of old multi-layer armor system >no endgame, everfall, or super dungeon >dragonplague is just a middle finger instead of a unique boss or quest of some kind >reviewers all lied out their asses
Its a backhand of grand proportions, and the fact so many people are defending it, really shows how fricked we are in terms of video games going foward
World gets set into what is known as "Unmoored" and is on a timer. It changes some spawns and adds a few super bosses, but theres nothing to really gain or do. You also cant rest, so your inevitably set to die since you cant restore your health with items on the regular like in DD1.
You get sent back out into the world and basically have to do a boss rush/gauntlet around the map.
It’s a cool concept imo but the problem is that you have a hard time limit to do it so you can’t really enjoy it since once you die or the time limit expires you get kicked into NG+
Sounds like something a mod could fix. Though even with that it still sounds worse than BBI or Everfall.
You get sent back out into the world and basically have to do a boss rush/gauntlet around the map.

I'm loving it, though I've only had about 12 hours to play. My only complaint is the lack of enemy variety. It runs good and MTX is irrelevant to me since I won't be buying any.
I think that what hurts to much is that everyone can see the immense untapped potential of the game and that if Capcom weren't so fricking greedy, the thing could have easily been a masterpiece.
Instead it will be quickly forgotten and I don't even think it will gather the niche cult that DD1 had.
I knew it would be kind of meh. The first game was the same way. I'll pick it up in a couple years when its cheap. I got the first game for like 7 bucks.
its fun but i need an end game dungeon to endlessly farm like the everfall and the fact that gran soren's remains and the everfall are in the game already feels a bit more like a spit in the face since it lacks it

its trash and people expectations were too high

Yes, I bought DD on release. I enjoyed it so much I bought a second copy when my 360 RROD'd on PS3, and then again for dark arisen.
did you play dd1 before dark arisen though?
Should I just get DDDA instead while waiting for them to fix their shit?
honestly yeah
ddda is a certified hood classic
I finished the game today and the 1st game is definitely better.

With minimal spoilers please, what is the endgame? Everfall and BBI were my favorite parts of DD1.
World gets set into what is known as "Unmoored" and is on a timer. It changes some spawns and adds a few super bosses, but theres nothing to really gain or do. You also cant rest, so your inevitably set to die since you cant restore your health with items on the regular like in DD1.
You can use Allheals or Wakestones to restore yourself to full life. For Pawns, just brine and resummon them at full health.
