Why is it so hard to find a tv stand that can fit a 25" crt on it these days? Even craigslist doesn't have them anymore. And modern furniture can't support anything heavier than 50 lbs anymore.

I found a coffee table in my building trash that did the trick. Alternatively, pay up and shell out for solid wood furniture.

I made mine out of cheap wooden shelving.
Re-enforced it all and it holds up my 200 pound Sony 32 in CRT and 12 consoles.

Rad, very nicely done. I've been "going to do this" for years but keep talking myself out of it because I know damn well my wife and I are moving at some point and my laziness tells me that I don't want to move a 200lb television.

I build custom furniture for people with heavy electronics like classic amps ect and some for my own including a massive 31" monitor by NEC.

Just need to find those kinds of makers

entertainment systems needed to be built much sturdier and deeper back when they needed to hold giant CRTs. With the advent of thin/light flat panels, entertainment systems shrunk and basically just needed to be cheap ikea coffee tables that are only a foot deep

Don't really have a solution for you, other than finding old furniture that was designed to hold CRTs. That or DIY your own table I suppose

Consider an aquarium stand of suitable dimensions. 2x2x2ft aquarium weighs 400 lbs.

Still not enough to hold a 25" tv. They weigh 120 lbs. Modern furniture is built like absolute garbage.

Be a man like your father and make one. Doesn't have to be pretty, just get the job done. It's not difficult.

My dad didn't make anything and I don't have any wood or tools. I'd probably just hurt myself. It's pointless
