Im trying to play this shit on deck but installing the firmware keeps crashing rpcs3.
How do I fix? Already tried reinstalling and redownloading firmware.

Demons souls is a whole different animal when compared to the rest of the souls games. I wish they would have kept Shunsuke Kida as the composer. Instead we got 800 variations of super dramatic orchestral dramatic music. Just terrible.

To be fair, after bloodborne fromsoft just seems to overuse epic choir in their music which makes most boss themes sound super dull after a while. I also believe some of elden rings ambient and legacy dungeon tracks are better than most of the boss themes in the game. I also can't think of a single memorable track in ds3 aside from soul of cinder for obvious reasons

I actually agree with you there. I remember playing Dark Souls for the first time and getting to Quelagg where the choir is going nuts and thinking to myself, "wow this isn't very good, I hope the rest of the music isn't like this". And then almost every game they've made since then has been that but even worse.

Dark Souls 3 has the second most recognizable and famous theme in the series (after Gwyn's, obviously), the track of Vordt

The thing is, if you optimize the formula as much as they've done it in the sequels, you also optimize the soul out of the game.
It's not, it became a thing only after DS1 popularity, snoy finally remembered a game locked on their platform. Overall it's a proof of concept where many things didn't work at all, only its eclectic style has some redeeming value
I wouldn't necessarily call it "better", but I prefer its choice to design levels around a single checkpoint instead of the later games shoving them everywhere. I also prefer its overall aesthetic and the feeling that the apocalypse is ongoing instead of something that already happened and you're just combing through the remains of lost civilizations.

30% is huge when it turns bosses that can 2-3 shot you onto bosses that 5-6 shot you.
