>Kiryu is a badass yakuza >but he will never back stab anyone >he will never steal >he will never kill >he will never hurt women >he will never extort people >he will never lie outright to get the upper hand >he will always help anyone in need >he will always protect the weak no matter what >he is justice, always on the moral side >he wears his heart on his sleeve, always an honest man >he has time for everyone, anyone, always first to assist >he is an absolute gentlemen >he will never attack first, no matter what, he is never the instigator and always the calm man forced to act
guys, I'm starting to think things aren't adding up in yakuza's world
It's always tickled me how he always goes around as the legendary ojisan telling people what being a "true yakuza" means when the guy doesn't even like debt collecting
Kamurocho just got unlucky that a freakish war god got born with a really poor idea of what a yakuza is
this is why i think Majima would make a better protag
Majima can only be an actually decent yakuza off screen. The entirety of zero is him going full moron after he was prepared to shoot like 18 people but he suddenly can't bring himself to kill one pretty girl. Even then he's usually too busy 'kiryu-chan'ing to actually get any work done that isn't beating up his own guys like the joker.
>born with a really poor idea of what a yakuza is
he got a distorted view of it because of his Not Dad, who was trying extra hard to be a good man to make up for killing kiryu's real dad
theoretically kiryu was supposed to realize the "honorable yakuza" idea is bullshit and quit to live as a real man. maybe he'll do it for good in yakuza 17.
>and quit to live as a real man
we all know this part will only ever be a minigame because killyou's defining characteristic is being so immensely stoic, it makes him utterly clueless.
Kiryu would be a fine yakuza if he would just be okay with making some money. Plenty of the 'bad' yakuza have no problem beating people down the way kiryu curb stomps random drunks that bump into him on the street.
Except kiryu apparently has chi control or some kind of godly karma in his fists because he can decide whether his colossal punches knock someone's teeth out and leave them slumped and broken, or safely beat extremely drunk salarymen into sobriety like in 0. That's probably why he wants to distance himself from the other yakuza who don't have that supernatural gift or just don't care to learn it beating up civis

He could if he could use a heat action to say no to anything. 3 and 4 are him going 'i don't want to be involved in the tojo anymore' and then saying 'it can't be helped' the instant someone asks him to go back to tokyo to solve everyone's problems.
this is why I'm suprised there hasn't been a proper fully fleshed out Kazama prequel game, the dude was a bonafide hitman and a fricking monster, several kills under his belt, it could've been an entirely different tone with grit and a real underbelly tone and would've really cemented the reasoning behind why Kazama didn't want kiryu to become a yakuza
I'm going to play the others, I've already started kiwami, why the kill myself?? I love yakuza I wanna get into it more. I'm sorry if I came off stupid
Because people play this series in the wrong order.
They play games that came out much later first, then when they play 3, the backwards jump in game engine/gameplay/graphics etc is jarring.
can someone explain what was Shibata and Katsuragi's plan during Yakuza 4 regarding Ihara's death and Katsuragi forcing Dojima to either give him Arai or give up on Kamurocho Hills? was it just to frick with Dojima?
Andre is unironically my favorite part of the game. Not only because i had all the komeki moves finally when i fought him but because he is speaking English with the voice directions of someone that doesn't speak English and it sounds like he's recording on a different mic than everyone else in the game. He's the best.
Okay I'll say it. Rikiya getting killed was stupid and he died for no fricking reason. They should have let him be Kiryu's Okinawa Shinji from Y1. If someone had to die kill the fat guy.
because it relies too much on backstabbing your enemies, kiryu would never backstab anyone
>Kiryu is a badass yakuza

Yeah, it's weird that tanimura is more of a yakuza than him
he's a true samurai
Kamurocho just got unlucky that a freakish war god got born with a really poor idea of what a yakuza is

Kiryu has killed people though, or at least knows some of what he's done has resulted in lost lives. He isn't some absolute no kill rule batman gay
they could make it more brutal if they made one before kiryus era. this cutscene from kiwami 2 had the right tone for another setting

it's got the worst combat in the series which is pretty impressive to achieve
I believe in a remake.
wake me up when they port dead souls and you'll find out the true meaning of polarizing
what the frick dude don't sleep you need to wake me up when they port kenzan
there wasn't a scene like this to bring the fan base together
I just finished 0 as my first yakuza game, what the frick is this? Do they really show a guy coming onto a school girl in later yakuzas
no moron
I'm going to play the others, I've already started kiwami, why the kill myself?? I love yakuza I wanna get into it more. I'm sorry if I came off stupid
it's okay 🙂
have a nice day 0gay
You'll get it when you get around to it and know the character. It's supposed to make you uncomfortable.
ok, will look froward to it thank you
I meant ill look forward to the game and story of the scene I don't mean I'll look forward to what he does and stuff
you're not welcome here

Okinawa. Atmosphere. Kino.
Gameplay feels stiff but Mine holds the whole thing together and Fly is an excellent track

he did. but then he survived because he protected mame and the kids in the process.
I do like him but i still like Rikiya more
In before moosegay's six paragraph in depth analcyst.

These games suck.
