Because everyone agrees that Infinite missed the mark because 343i keeps fricking everything up.

343 couldn't even give the Commando a competitive magazine size or reserve ammo pool. They have no idea what they're doing from top to bottom.
-Singleplayer is rushed out Halo Farcry with lore rape and 1 biome when the OG game had like 7 different environment templates, Infinite is literally all forest and metal.
-Multiplayer is broken, half finished, filled with progression issues and barely any updates
-No Forge
-No Coop campaign

Halo 4 and onward fricking blows dick from a narrative perspective. Take it in new directions, sure, but don't retcon the frick out of the existing lore to shoehorn in your fanfiction.
And Halo Infinite was an attempt to try and reinvent the wheel and soft reboot the franchise because they fricked up. This always happens when creative types try and stamp their own mark on things rather than just following the template that's there.
I look at Halo like I look at the Alien franchise: the first three are worth a watch, even the flaky 3rd act, but everything after doesn't exist.
I know, they shouldn't have tried to put their stamp on the series, who the hell even wanted that, people just wanted a proper sequel to Halo 3.
Halo 4 and 5 sucked but Infinite just felt like part of the trilogy almost, minus some of the finer details and extra content that Bungie title had back then. Even just a single scarab section would have made it one of the best games of the entire series if not all of xbox's whole library. Maybe future DLC will make up for it but I don't know. Also Forge needed to be out yesterday.
This, hope they add Scarabs and don't forget both Stratos Sentinels and a Warthog Run in the next story DLC, also make sure the Warthog Run is the end of the game while playing Halo's main theme.

Yes, it's trademarked as Halo The Endless, it's probably going to be announced next year at E3 with both a physical release in 2024, a digital release, and a download to Halo Infinite adding it to Infinite to where you'll be able to choose from the first campaign and the second campaign called The Endless.

Although I sort of enjoyed Infinite I completely agree with this, I kept waiting to at least see some snowy areas but there was nothing. Unimaginative.

The world got really fricking lazy. I don't even want to work 20 hours anymore, life is just too entertaining to waste it away actually developing shit.
Infinite had the gameplay needed to succeed, but they didn't want to update their contractors contracts so no coders to make forge, no more map makers for multiplayer, no one to finish the campaign which is the shortest in the series etc. The art director was also obviously some new guy.

What's really bizarre is that 343 thinks they're protecting canon by only allowing the Master Chief player model. Like the fact that coop alone is non-canon isn't enough to make them just say "Yeah, OK, you can choose to play as you multiplayer Spartan in coop for the sake of fun."
They're the ones who push "Muh player expression!" all the time, then they pull this? How can they expect anyone to take them seriously when they nonsensically contradict themselves all the time? There's no consistency anywhere at 343.
