Why is the ammo so limited in this game? I break into an armory and get 5 bullets.

Why is the ammo so limited in this game? I break into an armory and get 5 bullets. This is a game about choices, but the developers are clearly telling me how they want me to play. The original never did this.

Look guys I'm free to be a complete moron. This is how the game was meant to be played

What are you trying to say

If you're really trying to say DE1 had better combat then your opinion goes in the trash. HR is constantly spoonfeeding the player with ways to bypass everything using stealth and augs but it still manages to make combat more enjoyable despite not loading the player down with bullets to make up for the fact the player literally can't aim

I never said de1 had better combat? Nothing in my sentence implied that. What is being said is that de1 gave the choice on how you wanted to play.

Please, while combat is better, enemies dropping 2 bullets so the devs can force you to play the way they want is a stupid approach. Even the devs knew this. Why do you think they load up the room with ammunition, grenades, and gun types for a boss fight?

The second box actually has a bunch of lockers filled with landmines, candy bars, stims, and ammo. It was blatant with the first boss, but the second was even more shameless.

Because it's a stealth game/hyper defensive cover shooter first. And not a great one, people like it for the art and the overworld exploration/interactions more.
      >The original never did this.
That's because it's better, anon. People don't even argue that, Human Revolution is competing with Invisible War.

Swimming is weighted to cost like 1/3rd of any other skill.

        >Competing with invisible war
Clearly you've never played invisible war anon. Or you would know that EVERY play style is both viable and enjoyable in D:IS.

Final third of the game is just instagibbing everything with the wallhack railgun.

This is one of the most overrated games on Ganker. It’s shit from top to bottom, from voice acting to gameplay. It’s ugly and uninteresting and I have no idea why people like it so god damn much.

it's also unacceptable for a decade old game to have loading times upwards of one minute.

If you just gun everyone down you will miss out on cool stuff the devs worked very hard on.

It's nice the devs did cool stuff, but I should still be able to play the way I want

Because the devs wanted to make an MGS clone and not an immersive sim.

That's an insult to MGS, and MGS isn't even great stealth.
DXHR is full modern garbage crouch-waddle stealth with the bare minimum and npc/environment manipulation, has to compensate hard with "bypass the entire encounter via vents and rafters".
Has more in common with fricking Last of Us.

Doesn't the guy in the first map of Dues Ex charge like hundreds of dollars for a few rounds of ammo and a grenade? Only IW bombards you with more ammo than you could ever need.

That's not to say you'll be wanting for ammo in a Deus Ex game though. Just that you can't play the game spray and pray.

Deus Ex 1 does a lot of things very well.
The economy is not one of them, it's complete trash. From start to finish, there is not a single item in the game remotely worth the asking price aside from like 3 gun upgrades.

You can still gun your way through it, just don't neglect abusing grenades/tossing lams.

Because morons devs wanted people to play more stealthy, sadly during playtests no one gave a frick about it so they decided limit the ammo substantially because idk, it was their first game

I never had an issue with lack of ammo and I played pretty aggressively. I looted everything and bought a hearty amount of ammo from vendors. Also fully upgraded pistol or explosive shot revolver deals so much damage that I don't even know how anybody could be left wanting for ammo. Some heavy weapons do have scarce ammo I suppose, also assault rifle eats ammo for breakfast

never had any problem with the ammo in this game, literally never even needed to fire 1 shot, until the 2nd time we came to China, where Malik.

If you manage your ammo, upgrade your weapon and buy from vendors you'll never run out of ammo.

Real answer, during QA the Devs realised that 99% of players were literally shooting there way through the game because combat was so easy. They desperately tried to adjust it but it was too late in development.

So they just stripped out all the ammo, they actually counted on the walls of their office how much potential ammo the player would have at each quest
