Why is the NES LoZ just more fun than BotW or TotK?
I actually enjoy LoZ where BotW just feels like a chore to play, I'm not even going to touch the expansion.

After playing the GBC remake, I can't go back to the original.
Why didn't NES LoZ get a Switch remake? It's THE Zelda game.
Nintendo hates real Zelda. They want ubishit open world with crafting and durability
>They want ubishit open world with crafting and durability
He said remake. They could have just adapted their BotW mockup using le epic NES sprites to be the the new 2D LoZ game. Crafting and shit included.
Zelda is a reinvention every console generation, there's really no reason to remake any of them ever, just make new ones.
GBC Remake? You mean Oracle of Seasons?

BotW is literally the closest the Zelda franchise has been to LoZ since LoZ itself. Don't forget that ALttP introduced linear dungeon orders which the series has had all the way until BotW.
>similar to it in one or two aspects
That's a cope.
Zelda 1 is fricking awful.
Try Link's Awakening for the same, just massively improved in all aspects.
Absolute homosexuals. Can't appreciate the classics...
>NES LoZ just more fun
I've never gotten past the first dungeon of LoZ1 because of how bad it's aged. It's boring.
I've beaten TotK and BotW.
I usually turn LoZ after 10 minutes or so. Let's get fricking real, it's primordial soup game design. Obviously it's an important game and it's culturally impactful, but "fun"? lol frick off. Enemies bleep around in predermined patters - completely oblivious to the player. Hitting anything is a fricking pain because your sword just sticks out in front of you rather than the swish arc which later games corrected. And dungeons are nothing but room ager room of enemies to hit. NES LoZ isn’t even in the Top 10 Zeldas. Your fricking delusional if you think otherwise.
>Enemies bleep around in predermined patters - completely oblivious to the player. Hitting anything is a fricking pain because your sword just sticks out in front of you
And yet LoZ combat is better than any 3D game's combat. Hmmmm. LOL.
delusion masquerading as smugness
LoZ1 doesn't even hold a candle to Crystalis
>LoZ1 doesn't even hold a candle to Crystalis
Ok but we're comparing LoZ to other Zeldas, not Crystalis.
The only fun part of Crystalis is the poison forest. I am certain you have never played Crystalis.
>And yet LoZ combat is better than any 3D game's combat
HOW
O
W
That's just insane contrarianism.
3D Zeldas suck total ass.
>3D Zeldas suck total ass
lol have fun living in the 80s. Frick off to /vr/.
You people are moronic. LoZ is the most action-oriented the series has ever been besides Zelda II. Going through the busier screens is like playing a version of Ikari Warriors where enemies can make you drop your gun. If you can't have fun with this game then go find another hobby.
You sound like those old people that tell you the original 1920s movie was better than the 1970s version or the new one.
>replay it
>get to second quest
>manage the first dungeon
>impossible to find the rest
I am filtered to this day

Man that guy was right, fun is a buzzword, at least by itself. I can say why I prefer NES Zelda over Breath of The Wild (at least, if I played Breath of the Wild) but I played the original Zelda and can offer some insight on why I like it. You're lost, I had to do a lot of cryptic stuff to get ahead, and I like having to be the main driver in the game's quest, not just following a main quest. That was fun.
It's that easy to just say why you like it
Reset the counter
Because you can pick it up and you're immediately in the game, no cutscenes or exposition or tutorials
>no cutscenes or exposition or tutorials
Goddamn that gets my dick hard so good.
Tight controls, a consistent tile-based ruleset between player and enemy movement and abilities, a healthy balance between action gameplay that rewards precision finesse of its controls and exploration that allows you to make progress in multiple ways between clearing levels, making discoveries for later, and powering up your character. It isn't the most robust game at doing any of these things, but it executes them all very well and in close-knit tandem with one another.
Shigeru Miyomoto fears BOTW&TOTK, Rosalina, Fire Emblem Heroes success, and Donkey Kong SNES trilogy.
Based. The original LoZ is still one of the best games in the franchise. Fun to play through even now.
