>PO has BB connecting with soldiers, learning to lead them and urging them to resist someone using Boss' vocal patterns to sway them into reflexive obedience >PW's entire plot gets launched by BB hearing a synthetic recording of Boss' voice and falling for the bait himself
PW is the one that should be stricken from the record, not PO. His character regresses in PW so hard it isn't even funny.
>BB hearing a synthetic recording of Boss' voice and falling for the bait himself >His character regresses
Come on. That's actually a pretty realistic reaction. BB is not a superhero. No one is made out of stone. If your crush was dead and you suddenly hear her voice in a recording, you'd go looking for her too.
>BB pulled the trigger, point blank, thinking she was alive is fricking moronic.
That is the exact same plot of picrel. And guess what? That game is considered one of the best, if not THE best videogame of all time. Even so to the point that it is the first sequel in hstory getting remade BEFORE the first entry. So I'll just say it as it is. The plot was kino. The problem with PW is the gameplay. The game should have focused with BB mental state and the way his PTSD starts to affect his missions. Introduce some psychological horror aspects like in the Shellshock games and you're set. Take the Guy Savage minigame from MGS3 as an example.

Bot response, but it is, the body of text is your thoughts which I called wrong, you being wrong is the argument, this is in response to your "non argument" of saying you are not wrong. It's the definition of an argument, ESL-kun.

They are called facts, anon. PW has a very tedious gameplay. And the setting is pretty bland and boring too. They should have went with a different approach. And you have to admit that the platonic relationship between Snake and The Boss viewed through a more twisted lense like SH2 would be pretty interesting.
Silent Hill has a main character who is clinically insane with shit memory who faces literal monsters from hell. He's in a pretty poor mental state so you can't blame him for going whacko. On the other hand, physical torture, the worst thing BB has faced, rolls off of him like rain.
Anyways, SH1 was way better. It was a huge risk as an original IP and turned horror gaming into more than campy schlock like Resident Evil. No, you did not play Alone In The Dark.
homie before that he fought a guy that could control bees, a 100 year old man with photosynthesis, a Russian cosmonaut that exploded into a fire ghost when he died, A LITERAL GHOST and some homosexual that can control lightning. why wouldn't reviving someone be completely outside of the realm of possibility?
Yeah, it turns out hackjima retconned that to be parasite horseshit, he even mocks the mammal pod form PW in V as just a machine acknowledging that it was stupid as frick for Snake to fall for it in the first place.
fpbp. Kojima was only partially involved, so IIRC, it's "partially canon" - as in, the general plot points are canon, but the finer points aren't, especially the stuff that got contradicted in later games. It's messy, so don't worry too much about it. Just play Peace Walker and go from there
Kojima is jealous of it, that's why he copied it with meme walker a V while shitting all over it. Gene is a great villain and the story does better things with BB than either of his shitty games.
I liked it more than Peace Walker. Peace Walker was really tedious and boring. Portable Ops played like a normal MGS game just watered down for PSP. Both Peace Walker and MGSV are boring tedious games that are not like MGS1,2,3,4 and Portable Ops.

Canon schmanon, the events on San Hieronymo directly lead fo Big Boss acquiring whatever is left of the Philosopher's Legacy (not much) to start MSF. It's also where he officially cuts all connections with the US and forges his own path in MSF.
It’s about as close to canon as it could be without really being canon. IIRC the start of Peace Walker mentions San Hieronymo and that’s it, but Portable Ops is about as close to a proper Metal Gear Solid game in spirit as you can get without it being one.
Always found it a shame we didn't get more urban levels in Metal Gear. Like, actual sneaking through houses or offices and what not, only partially happens in MGS4.
post V gameplay could use some novelty >you can't use fultons, since ceilings >you have to chose between camo or no footsteps, but, in a closed environment, enemies are always closer.
my understanding is that Kojima wasn't fully in-charge, and some of the plot details of later games directly contradict it
at one point Kojima made an announcement that it wasn't canon, i think closer to the release of Peace Walker

Peace Walker and V are both super cringe.

BB pulled the trigger, point blank, thinking she was alive is fricking moronic. It turned BB into simp snake.

I liked the Uwe Boll movies

Because Kojimbo wasn't involved in the project? I think it is considered canon to the Metal Gear Ac!d timeline.
It is canon lol but it doesn’t matter. The only important part is ocelot and that’s it.
Parts of it are canon. Kojimbo only made it because his son liked playing on his PSP.
Kojima is jealous of it, that's why he copied it with meme walker a V while shitting all over it. Gene is a great villain and the story does better things with BB than either of his shitty games.

The narrative was actually fairly good, as was the music

Agree

TL:DR; No, but it’s as close as it can get.
Last Metal Gear in an urban environment, so it's the last good one

everything in mgs4 only partially happens
Its more canon than Peace Walker and V.
"canon" is a real stupid concept when it comes to entertainment, especially games
If it's fun who gives a frick
