Why Monster Hunter is unknown outside Japan

I am Japanese.
When I was in junior high school, Monster 2ndg was very popular. There were 35 people in my class. There were about 18 guys, but 10 of them were playing Monster Hunter 2g and we were all in g class. After school we all played Monster Hunter together.
The game was so popular in Japan, but I was surprised to hear that nobody in other countries knew about it.

Everyone in Japan should have sex to honour Abe

Possibly because getting together to play handheld games isn't popular outside of japan.

They were giving World away to anyone that bought a GPU promoting it at the time and it count as sold. How many of those GPU owner claim it is another story.

I mean you could say the same for the opposite. why wasn't halo popular in japan? why wasn't Gta popular in japan? gears? god of war? they were huge in other countries.

just different audiences. also japan are weebs so majority of them being gaming geeks was a common thing back then. whereas in other countries, irl stuff was more important. have sex.

Because the West has absolute shittaste. There is a reason the most succesful MH in the West doesn't have a single monster in the top 30 Japan monster charts and is a fricking shit game

Franchises becoming big in America is always a huge red flag, also see DMC5, Zelda BotW, Fire Emblem Awakening, RE3 and everything after 4, Street Fighter

It's too Japanese with literally no cultural references outside of Japan.
    >The monsters belong to the Japanese folklore
    >the characters are all Japanese Japanese from Japanese Japan
    >the food, the places of life, the architecture, etc. are Japanese

There's exceptions. I had 4 friends that played FU with me back in high school, one of them lived close to the school so we'd just walk there after school every friday to get really high and play MH. We played together up until 4G and then the group kinda fell apart, though I still play the newer games with one of them.

People didnt like the psp here. I only had one friend who owned a psp and he was too much of a pussy to learn the game. I ended up buying a cheap one for my little sister to play co-op with.
