Because Pokemon is unstoppable. Pokemon isn't just games. It is TV shows, movies, toys and trading cards. All of this combines into one large picture from which the every single product of the brand can benefit.
Genshin Impact is unironically the best Pokemon game to come out in years. It's what Pokémon should be like (bar the Gacha elements). If anything Genshin reminds me more of Pokemon than it does Breath of the Wild.

Because the Pokémon are adores by many, everyone has a favorite and the cultural relevancy of Pokémon will keep people endeared to the franchise even if they don't buy any more games

Have you tried nexomon? Nexomon extinction in paticular is a very fine game, and the designs are amazing! Als its available on every console and pc

Very much so, it has a surprisingly extensive world with tons of unique npc's
Pokemon are all interesting to use with various niches available to the player
And it is challenging, without being kaizo bs
also some immensely useful QOL things like infinite use TM's (note the increase difficulty thing, proper movesets are a must), HM's that don't need a move deleter, consumable held items are not permanently consumed during important battles, easy switching between abilities and hidden abilities and a bunch more stuff
also music is entirely original and of surprisingly high quality again
overall it's unique in how polished it is, only 2 areas in the game feel incomplete and they're not critical
well its a game about internet culture so there maybe a lot of stuff you will not get or find funny

Not true anymore, maybe it was five years ago but now gachas have better graphics than some PS4 games. The only thing that gachas don't have is good gameplay but everything else is done
