Because it showed a lot of games, different kinds of games (PS take note), and it came right after a thoroughly disappointing SoP and SGF during a relatively weak year for big releases.
They're all Also on PC*, but Xbox is more a publishing brand at this point.
to answer that question, you would first need to prove that it was actually successful
Games >Finally something on perfect dark >gears is back to manly testosterone and not screaming woman face >new Max's Life is Strange >Fable might actually be releasing
Games >Finally something on perfect dark >gears is back to manly testosterone and not screaming woman face >new Max's Life is Strange >Fable might actually be releasing
So looking at that list of the games with release date this year. Only 7 of that list are actual games, the rest is all DLC for existing games.
And only 1 is a 1st party game...with the others being 3rd party or from their recent acquisitions, games that were most likely in development as they purchased the companies.
So how has MS won?
They have only 1 "real" game releasing this year, a flight sim....
It was a success because they can just say it was and then ignore or insult everybody who disagrees, backed up by their endless hordes of Twatterbots braindead fans. This is what AAA marketing is like in 2024.
Frick if I know because all their stuff is also on PlayStation and PC. People aren't going to be buying an Xbox after this. They should have made genuine exclusives.
Games media has an easier time praising the Xbox showcase, because now they understand most of these games are coming to other consoles like PlayStation or even Switch. Before it was the Xbox exclusivity which made critics judge Xbox games more harshly, and people had to get a console they didn't want to play those games.
Otherwise I think it's a lot of nostalgia for Xbox 360 games that helps keep the Xbox brand strong today. Gears of War, Perfect Dark, Black Ops, Fable, etc. Seeing those franchises continue is a big deal for people who loved Xbox 360.
People don't realize that a lot of those games are going to Playstation as well.

People like to draw parallels between the Series X and Xbone, but the Xbone didn't have a showcase with this many more games in it's pipeline than it's competitor with all of them being a day one release on a sub.
Not a success until the games actually fricking release which has been Microsoft’s biggest problem by far, why are we pretending that trailers are a success now?
majority of upcoming games have female leads
and that's a good thing, according to people who don't play games, but somehow are in charge of making them
Nobody expected anything from the Xbox, in fact the end of the Xbox was expected.
Instead, games were presented, the point is that most of the games will be released for PS5, and the Xbox exclusives had almost no gameplay, as always happens in MS presentations.
That’s all, they just showed a few good games which is extremely difficult to do nowadays. But I think the Xbox showcases have been better than the state of plays for multiple years now
Xbox >Buys out more than half of the entire AAA industry >Presents everything they've been cooking since before the 70b purchase >Wow, Xbox is doing so well, am I right lads >They're all coming out on PS5 anyway
Yeah. I believe it. I also wonder if Ryan McCaffrey ever jerked off to the Xbox logo.

they paid shill c**ts to say it was... le good

Because they didn't say "also on PS".
Because Playstation and Nintendo didn't have a showcase the same week as this.
They had the best line up with actual games, all Day 1 gamepass
They showed more games WITHOUT release dates, than ones which did. It's genuinely baffling.

>State of Decay 3
That game has been in development since 2018, and still no release date? Weird.

Microsoft’s shows are usually better than most but they almost never follow through
It was a success because they can just say it was and then ignore or insult everybody who disagrees, backed up by their endless hordes of Twatterbots braindead fans. This is what AAA marketing is like in 2024.
>Why was it a success?
copium, since xbox has been on life support for the entire generation.
They have to lie to themselves.
Frick if I know because all their stuff is also on PlayStation and PC. People aren't going to be buying an Xbox after this. They should have made genuine exclusives.
Not everyone is a nerd like you with a gaming PC.
>Most games shown were multiplatform
>No release date for several games
>Black folk and women screaming
No idea why ppl are saying it was good, maybe it was less slightly shit compared to Doritos Pope event or the absolute State of Play
The Latin American Showcase was the best show
I often wonder just how different a cute girl like this see the world, it's baffling.
'The Perfect Time'? Would that not have been in 2014 the year after Xbox had been annihilated by Sony.
People don't realize that a lot of those games are going to Playstation as well.
People do realize

So much samegayging
Was it? There were zero xbox games shown. Everything is coming to PC and PS5.
People like to draw parallels between the Series X and Xbone, but the Xbone didn't have a showcase with this many more games in it's pipeline than it's competitor with all of them being a day one release on a sub.
Xbox is back.
It's easy to have a great showcase when you've been showing ten years of dogshit.
Not a success until the games actually fricking release which has been Microsoft’s biggest problem by far, why are we pretending that trailers are a success now?
Because they paid more for the announcement of multiplats
Nostalgia bait.
they bought a shit ton of studios and showed off the games they were making under the banner of xbox
majority of upcoming games have female leads
and that's a good thing, according to people who don't play games, but somehow are in charge of making them
>Ryan McCaffrey
>Biggest P3 suckfest in all of games media
Nobody expected anything from the Xbox, in fact the end of the Xbox was expected.

IGN doesnt even try to hid they are bankrolled by microsoft at this point
Very good but
>No Forza
>No FGC
Would've been perfect otherwise
To be fair, the bar was pretty low after 10 years of Phil bringing nothing.
>was good
>they best ever
>not a single game I want to play
Really? That was their best!
Every single xbox showcase is a "success" yet they continue struggling to sell any consoles or games whatsoever.
because they have no exclusives, why would anyone buy an xbox when all their games are on PC for cheap?
Games
That’s all, they just showed a few good games which is extremely difficult to do nowadays. But I think the Xbox showcases have been better than the state of plays for multiple years now
