I like to play it on my back porch when the weather is nice.
I could emulate switch games on myv gaming PC instead of buying a switch. But i'd much rather pirate switch games on a portable computer, thats what I have a Steam Deck for.
I can also stream my PC games remotely anywhere if my steam deck can't handle it and I can play indie titles from the comfort of my own bed rather than getting blisters sitting on my gaming chair for 8 hours straight.

I bought one because I like handheld gaming. I didn't feel the need to justify it to myself any more than that.
I had a PS2 when I was a kid but I played 100s of hours on my psp. I dont know why just something about handheld seems comfier.
I can play PC games at work, with an easy to carry handheld. Its been incredible to have. I've beaten nine games on my deck at work since I bought it in 2022. Those nine games I would have never had the time for at home. It's so worth the money to have a PC that is easy to take with you.
Because the balancing of power constraints tricks my brain into not resenting older, cheaper games with shit graphics.
Also it makes a great personal device when traveling for business.
