Complete the tutorial, learn only a handful of heroes and watch some videos because you can't learn every concept on your own.
Most importantly have fun along the way, don't bother with win rates and stats.

No. The game became team based, no matter how good you play, if you can't rely on teammates you lose.
this, in the old times a good player could stomp the whole game in 10-20 mins...
nowadays it's close to impossible due to various mechanics that will force late game and then the team with best carries wins...
