The Udjat are very good at not dying, use their pages, then Liu abilities that let you regen health every time the emotion level rises and/or Sweeper passives
Use Kim's passive Unrelenting on someone and have all the disposable mooks equip the Sweeper gold page that gives you Persistence. It's a good page by itself, too.
Equip pic related and whatever light regen/page draw you can muster in their decks for maximum emotion points

Udjat are *technically* stagger endured to everything, kinda.
Their passive makes them regenerate half the stagger they lost in the turn, at the end of the turn, so unless they get staggered in one go it shouldn't be a problem, they have high enough stagger to shrug off at least one onrush

it's one of those ones where you have to get a ton of negative emotion coins for
the game shows you your ratio of positive/negative coins when you choose an abno page, but I don't think it ever tells you the requirements for each page
If you want to get mountain of corpses consistently you have to lose a ton of clashes with block dice or something

The Udjat are very good at not dying, use their pages, then Liu abilities that let you regen health every time the emotion level rises and/or Sweeper passives
Use Kim's passive Unrelenting on someone and have all the disposable mooks equip the Sweeper gold page that gives you Persistence. It's a good page by itself, too.
Equip pic related and whatever light regen/page draw you can muster in their decks for maximum emotion points

The Awakening is very blatantly about how being raised sheltered from the outside world made Edna completely incapable of dealing with it- you can easily notice this by how all the servants are background characters (especially when Chopin was raised in a slaveowner household and frequently tackled such issues in her works).
Chopin deliberately intended Edna's self-centredness to reflect her being sheltered and intentionally kept unaware and uneducated, as was supposed to be standard for her gender and class at the time. She is not a pleasant character, but an understandable one.

For what it's worth I enjoyed pretty much everything else I read my junior and senior year of high school, the Awakening just stands out in particular as having been really bad to read and discuss in class especially.
