Don’t be baited by this post. 99% of the time you aren’t fighting enemies that can be staggered like this, and also this combo does way less damage than just spamming left click with the spear guy. This is primarily a gacha game where you stat check the enemies.
But that's wrong, moron-kun. Only common enemies can be stunlocked and they usually attack in groups. Elites and bosses only have a chance to get staggered on hit, have armor on most attacks and usually require a parry to interrupt them.
I saw gameplay of this and, while the attacks look cool, every single enemy just stands there waiting for you to hit them. How the frick people find this game entertaining is beyond me

At first I thought it was because phones couldn't render so many characters at once but then I remembered Xenoblade which had AI party members running alongside you at all times so clearly that was not the problem. But yeah I'm not a fan of this character switching mechanics either.

Because it forces you into creating teams and using all the characters they release. If you could just use one character why would you ever pull on anything else or build anything else? The multi-character setup also changes the gameplay into using different characters for different parts of their kit and you couldn't fit three character's worth of mechanics and kits into a single character unless you do style changes or the Blade system from Xenoblade, but at that point you're just character swapping with a different name.

Why do WuWa players feel the need to be so disingenuous? A vast majority of the time the game plays exactly like Genshin. You run up to something, smack it a few times and it dies. The only time you have much of an opportunity to engage with the combat system is against bosses but the game is held back by its extremely generous BotW-tier dodge system where you don't even need to be in an attack's hitbox to trigger your Witch Time. It's a game for people who are easily entertained by the video game equivalent of jingling keys. In most games when you go through a combo you'll typically deal damage one time per swing with an occasional flourish attack that may hit 2-3 times for style. In WuWa every attack hits multiple times because the easiest way to trick morons into thinking something is impactful is to make extremely basic shit a flashy 100 hit combo.

Instead it turns it from a somewhat serious moment to hilarity.
Played for a couple hours, this is just genshin again, the female avatar has a nice ass, hate they had to put white hair somewhere to all the black haired girls, and I got like five 5-star characters from the get go.

I heard good things about Not!Sephiroth but I didn't do anything with him yet at all.
The current meta is Not!Xiao, Not!Kusanali, Not!Sephiroth, Encore, Yinlin, and Havoc Rover. You can throw Mortefi in there if you want a sub DPS, elec gauntlet guy if you're using Sephiroth or Yinlin and don't want Verina or Encore in your party, and then there's some niche usages for the Havoc self damage girl and Baizhi. Baizhi is basically "We have Verina at home".

I play both games, but will probably take a break from genshin once my welkin runs out. Playing wuwa just made me realize how outdated genshin feels. WuWa's combat and movement feel so fast and fluid that anything in genshin just feels so sluggish and slow in comparison. And the graphics, character models, and animations in wuwa is so much better. I originally wasn't a fan of their character designs but after seeing them in game I'm very impressed, atleast to the point where I bought the wuwa version of welkin.
Not sure how long it'll last but its more fun than I've had in genshin in a long time. Also, skip button.

Come on now, the gem walls and line puzzles are fairly involved compared to most puzzles in Genshin. The weight switches, "Drawn the line" puzzles, and the knockoff Seelies are roughly the same as Genshin's typical puzzles, but those two specifically had you think at least a bit.
Give Wuwa time. It will figure out its strengths, and it will deviate away from the Genshin-copy eventually. Think FFXIV for example, they copied WoW but overtime figured out their strengths and leaned in more that way. I think Wuwa has great potential, so long as they do not bend the knee TOO much, especially to unreasonable demands argued in bad faith (Like the bile you see on twitter)

I'm surprised how good it is for a free game that came out a couple weeks ago. There's room for improvement and I know they can do it.

It's definitely doing well but it's on a pretty hard downward trend. Unless they've got an ace up their sleeve or miHoYo drops the ball hard, Natlan is going to make WuWa about as relevant as Palworld is these days.
I personally think if WuWa is going to survive it needs Dragonspine-tier content every single patch for the first year or so with the explicit notice to everyone that this is only being done for the first year and will taper off to several months each large location after that for the dev's sanity. That much of a map needs to be added with that much content if they hope to compete with Genshin because currently the map is smaller than Mondo + Liyue was and that's what Genshin launched with. This isn't even getting into the story aspect which needs a major focus because right now it's a complete mess with them having an end-of-area story quest smack dab in the middle of the story with no fanfare.

The problem is that even if they regularly had massive content patches(this is not realistic) they sort of shot themselves in the foot by making overworld exploration so fast. If you put the same content in both games you're going to consume it five times faster in Wuthering Waves because the game is designed in a way to let you do that.
They could pull back on it and make all the traversal tools gradual unlocks in future updates but that's just going to piss everyone off because the players have gotten used to the baseline.

It's not realistic but it's the only thing I think they could really do to sustain it. Your issue is also a big problem because they would have to pull the same tricks they do in the story content where stuff simply can't be climbed (Like the Grand Library's angular walls) but that would just mean people would use the Grappling Hook way more. Another issue they've given themselves is air dodge + Grappling Hook because it lets you skip past a lot of areas or get to places way earlier than you're supposed to be there and even though their tutorial stuff shows a player doing the Grappling Hook stuff I don't think they anticipated just how this could be abused going forward.
They've basically forced themselves into a situation where every area has to be as expansive and has as much verticality as Sumeru or Liyue to take advantage of going up and down canyons but also feeling like there's a lot of stuff to traverse. That's why Jinzhou is such a good starting area due to that mountain and its verticality.
They need to not worry about beating Genshin. They're not ever going to beat Genshin; it's too established and it's fanbase too rabid. WuWa needs to just focus on making good and consistent content with cool characters that don't immediately invalidate the prior cast. That's how Tower of Fantasy died.

The thing is a very, very large portion of Wuthering Waves players are either current or former Genshin players and a vast majority of Genshin players are first-time gacha players.
Considering this that means Kuro is sort of stuck with a few design decisions if they want to retain a playerbase. For example Genshin has relatively little power creep as far as gacha games go. It doesn't matter how good the game is, a lot of people are going to quit if their favorites are suddenly invalid after a few months and this is pretty standard practice for the genre.

This is also sort of an issue they're going to run into because of how the system works. You're basically only able to either buff, debuff, or add coordinated attacks. You can theoretically make "elemental reactions" in the sense of "This fire character does double damage if a Havoc character is switched into" but that would cause characters like Chixia and so on to fall even further down the rabbit hole than Amber ever did. If they want to make the entire roster work balancing is going to have to be a major priority because currently there's no reason to use characters like Aalto, Chixia, Yangyang, or Lingyang on your team whatsoever. Even Jianxin is heavily reaching. Aalto effectively requires pistol users or his entire kit is borderline pointless, Chixia can't stun anyone outside of heavy attacks so Daka Daka is pretty useless, Yangyang is just a significantly worse Venti, Lingyang has no real purpose, and Jianxin would require a new character to heavily buff shield gain to justify using her at all.

Honestly, act 2 to act 3 is a ridiculous amount of them rushing the plot because it went from 0 to 100 in barely any time at all and act 4 should have been the end of the Jinzhou arc. Picture related is also one of the funniest cutaways they could have possibly done. They didn't need that at all, just pan into the sky and then cut to them talking. Instead it turns it from a somewhat serious moment to hilarity.

The game acts as if I should be siding with Jihnsi and that Scar is a bad guy when Scar has objectively given me more information and explained more than she has in addition to shedding light on Rover's past and the TDs whereas Jihnsi is like "Nuh uh, you're a bad guy for working with the TDs!" when we just met several friendly ones and Scar himself is essentially a human/TD hybrid.
It's slightly different in Yinlin quests though, obviously she is le good character pretending to be bad or some shit, but Rover doesn't know it, Rover gets shocked, but quickly recovers, yet afraid of Yinlin and does her bidding, despite there is some sort of clear difference and the game throws at you those choices to frick off, as if you have a choice, and it kept going throughout the quest. the main problem of the quest is that it can't keep consistency. She zaps you because he is totally watching! Yet, you go through the whole trial unbinded, and she binds you with her spell only at the end before dollmakers chamber. Then if you are unbinded and fighting, helping Yinlin, then he doesn't watch you? Then why the zapping needs to happen? At some point she says sus things as if he isn't watching, but then she uses her puppet to talk to you because he is apparently watching.
Also Dollmaker acknowledged that you are some sort of demigod and he couldn't get into your head and shit, but he decided to keep fricking with you anyway. How dumb can he fricking be?

But that's wrong, moron-kun. Only common enemies can be stunlocked and they usually attack in groups. Elites and bosses only have a chance to get staggered on hit, have armor on most attacks and usually require a parry to interrupt them.
I saw gameplay of this and, while the attacks look cool, every single enemy just stands there waiting for you to hit them. How the frick people find this game entertaining is beyond me

At first I thought it was because phones couldn't render so many characters at once but then I remembered Xenoblade which had AI party members running alongside you at all times so clearly that was not the problem. But yeah I'm not a fan of this character switching mechanics either.
You could still synergize attacks but yeah they should all be on the field at once. I imagine it's because of phones though. It's just like consoles preventing us from having more complex environments in games.

Because it forces you into creating teams and using all the characters they release. If you could just use one character why would you ever pull on anything else or build anything else? The multi-character setup also changes the gameplay into using different characters for different parts of their kit and you couldn't fit three character's worth of mechanics and kits into a single character unless you do style changes or the Blade system from Xenoblade, but at that point you're just character swapping with a different name.
You can barely even hear the music at all with it at max. At most I hear the music disappear into static noises to indicate I'm being targeted by something, otherwise it's borderline mute.

Why do WuWa players feel the need to be so disingenuous? A vast majority of the time the game plays exactly like Genshin. You run up to something, smack it a few times and it dies. The only time you have much of an opportunity to engage with the combat system is against bosses but the game is held back by its extremely generous BotW-tier dodge system where you don't even need to be in an attack's hitbox to trigger your Witch Time. It's a game for people who are easily entertained by the video game equivalent of jingling keys. In most games when you go through a combo you'll typically deal damage one time per swing with an occasional flourish attack that may hit 2-3 times for style. In WuWa every attack hits multiple times because the easiest way to trick morons into thinking something is impactful is to make extremely basic shit a flashy 100 hit combo.

You can just reroll accounts if you want to guarantee her since you get like 20 or 30 limited pulls to try in about half an hour according to one guy who did it on /vmg/. Otherwise at best you'll give yourself a 50/50 and have to luck into her with the other 30-50ish reasonable to obtain pulls if you lose it. It also means exploring the entire map and collecting every chest and Sonance Casket if you expect to pull like 140ish times on the limited banner because right now you can reasonably get like 160ish limited pulls if you poopsock it.

the worst part about that game is the team restriction, every character including bangboo has a passive that only work if your entire team is either their element or group, ex: 3 maids or 3 fire. This makes teambuilding very restrictive

Once I heard that they might be reworking the tacet fields in 1.1 I have been holding off as much as I can.
I'm not touching them until I reach 15 in the Data Bank since there's no point. I leveled an Inferno Rider I got because the game forced me to for Chixia's quest with the old man but that's it. So far I haven't even needed them even at level 60, and the longest fights are maybe a minute-ish with bosses being three minutes at best. I also only have level 40/50 weapons.

You can throw Mortefi in there if you want a sub DPS, elec gauntlet guy if you're using Sephiroth or Yinlin and don't want Verina or Encore in your party, and then there's some niche usages for the Havoc self damage girl and Baizhi. Baizhi is basically "We have Verina at home".

I play both games, but will probably take a break from genshin once my welkin runs out. Playing wuwa just made me realize how outdated genshin feels. WuWa's combat and movement feel so fast and fluid that anything in genshin just feels so sluggish and slow in comparison. And the graphics, character models, and animations in wuwa is so much better. I originally wasn't a fan of their character designs but after seeing them in game I'm very impressed, atleast to the point where I bought the wuwa version of welkin.

Come on now, the gem walls and line puzzles are fairly involved compared to most puzzles in Genshin. The weight switches, "Drawn the line" puzzles, and the knockoff Seelies are roughly the same as Genshin's typical puzzles, but those two specifically had you think at least a bit.
Give Wuwa time. It will figure out its strengths, and it will deviate away from the Genshin-copy eventually. Think FFXIV for example, they copied WoW but overtime figured out their strengths and leaned in more that way. I think Wuwa has great potential, so long as they do not bend the knee TOO much, especially to unreasonable demands argued in bad faith (Like the bile you see on twitter)

It's definitely doing well but it's on a pretty hard downward trend. Unless they've got an ace up their sleeve or miHoYo drops the ball hard, Natlan is going to make WuWa about as relevant as Palworld is these days.
I personally think if WuWa is going to survive it needs Dragonspine-tier content every single patch for the first year or so with the explicit notice to everyone that this is only being done for the first year and will taper off to several months each large location after that for the dev's sanity. That much of a map needs to be added with that much content if they hope to compete with Genshin because currently the map is smaller than Mondo + Liyue was and that's what Genshin launched with. This isn't even getting into the story aspect which needs a major focus because right now it's a complete mess with them having an end-of-area story quest smack dab in the middle of the story with no fanfare.
The problem is that even if they regularly had massive content patches(this is not realistic) they sort of shot themselves in the foot by making overworld exploration so fast. If you put the same content in both games you're going to consume it five times faster in Wuthering Waves because the game is designed in a way to let you do that.
They could pull back on it and make all the traversal tools gradual unlocks in future updates but that's just going to piss everyone off because the players have gotten used to the baseline.
It's not realistic but it's the only thing I think they could really do to sustain it. Your issue is also a big problem because they would have to pull the same tricks they do in the story content where stuff simply can't be climbed (Like the Grand Library's angular walls) but that would just mean people would use the Grappling Hook way more. Another issue they've given themselves is air dodge + Grappling Hook because it lets you skip past a lot of areas or get to places way earlier than you're supposed to be there and even though their tutorial stuff shows a player doing the Grappling Hook stuff I don't think they anticipated just how this could be abused going forward.
They've basically forced themselves into a situation where every area has to be as expansive and has as much verticality as Sumeru or Liyue to take advantage of going up and down canyons but also feeling like there's a lot of stuff to traverse. That's why Jinzhou is such a good starting area due to that mountain and its verticality.
They need to not worry about beating Genshin. They're not ever going to beat Genshin; it's too established and it's fanbase too rabid. WuWa needs to just focus on making good and consistent content with cool characters that don't immediately invalidate the prior cast. That's how Tower of Fantasy died.
The thing is a very, very large portion of Wuthering Waves players are either current or former Genshin players and a vast majority of Genshin players are first-time gacha players.
Considering this that means Kuro is sort of stuck with a few design decisions if they want to retain a playerbase. For example Genshin has relatively little power creep as far as gacha games go. It doesn't matter how good the game is, a lot of people are going to quit if their favorites are suddenly invalid after a few months and this is pretty standard practice for the genre.

This is also sort of an issue they're going to run into because of how the system works. You're basically only able to either buff, debuff, or add coordinated attacks. You can theoretically make "elemental reactions" in the sense of "This fire character does double damage if a Havoc character is switched into" but that would cause characters like Chixia and so on to fall even further down the rabbit hole than Amber ever did. If they want to make the entire roster work balancing is going to have to be a major priority because currently there's no reason to use characters like Aalto, Chixia, Yangyang, or Lingyang on your team whatsoever. Even Jianxin is heavily reaching. Aalto effectively requires pistol users or his entire kit is borderline pointless, Chixia can't stun anyone outside of heavy attacks so Daka Daka is pretty useless, Yangyang is just a significantly worse Venti, Lingyang has no real purpose, and Jianxin would require a new character to heavily buff shield gain to justify using her at all.
WuWa character gameplay interactions are so simple they'll be forced to do power creep to sell characters.
It's nice the tutorial screenshots matches the MC used by the player instead of a generic template to cater for two.

It's all so tiresome. Why does the game even pose things, as if it's some sort of question and not forceful interaction. I hate that shit. Why would I help someone who fricked over me, just because she treats others well?
I have the same issue with Scar which I outlined
. The game acts as if I should be siding with Jihnsi and that Scar is a bad guy when Scar has objectively given me more information and explained more than she has in addition to shedding light on Rover's past and the TDs whereas Jihnsi is like "Nuh uh, you're a bad guy for working with the TDs!" when we just met several friendly ones and Scar himself is essentially a human/TD hybrid.
It's slightly different in Yinlin quests though, obviously she is le good character pretending to be bad or some shit, but Rover doesn't know it, Rover gets shocked, but quickly recovers, yet afraid of Yinlin and does her bidding, despite there is some sort of clear difference and the game throws at you those choices to frick off, as if you have a choice, and it kept going throughout the quest. I don't like it at all.

It's more akin to forcing you work with Scar and act friendly when he just stomped your face into the ground.
clear strength difference*, although I admit it's a reach, but Rover killed some demigod shit like Dreamless, I doubt Yinlin would pose much of an actual threat to her.

Logically Dollmaker would notice that hostage helps Yinlin killing those gays, making her death/getting experimented on far closer, instead of running away, logically Dollmaker would immediately recognize or atleast suspect Yinlin in betrayal, since Rover is so eager to bring her death/become a hostage to Dollmaker closer.

Maybe they could have done it as a full solo trial section like Jiyan (I only used Yinlin during that section because I knew I shouldn't be helping storywise) but it was explained. There was no betrayal. The men were overclocking and couldn't see reason/understand what words she was saying to them and so she was forced to defend herself. Maybe don't skip the cutscenes?

the main problem of the quest is that it can't keep consistency. She zaps you because he is totally watching! Yet, you go through the whole trial unbinded, and she binds you with her spell only at the end before dollmakers chamber. Then if you are unbinded and fighting, helping Yinlin, then he doesn't watch you? Then why the zapping needs to happen? At some point she says sus things as if he isn't watching, but then she uses her puppet to talk to you because he is apparently watching.
Also Dollmaker acknowledged that you are some sort of demigod and he couldn't get into your head and shit, but he decided to keep fricking with you anyway. How dumb can he fricking be?
You don't win when you play gacha.

It's hard to not lose faith in gaming and humanity as a whole when shit like this happens. Maybe all the people that liked videogames grew up and have no time for games anymore while i'm left with the zoomies that think watching a game play itself is the best thing ever.
