Just watch the trailer and have a triple digit IQ. The SGE ability is clearly upgraded Toxicon, the BLM spell is upgraded Thunder IV, the SMN skill is upgraded Painflare, the SAM skill is Tenka Goken, the MCH skill is Chainsaw, etc.
Around 1/2 to 2/3rds of them are clearly just upgrades though. Or are you going to argue that shit like Hellfrog with blue fire is a new button and not just a direct upgrade.

MCH isn't a direct Chainsaw upgrade though. They use regular Chainsaw right before it so its either a follow up attack or a temporary upgrade via Reassemble or Hypercharge similar to NIN's Kassatsu.
It's a big orb shaped AoE that looks like a 'flare' of some kind, there's a fire effect inside and lightning orbs, all surrounded by darkness. Fire and lightning are astral/dark elements. So maybe a Zodiark flare.

Why in the mother of frick did the devs bother wasting time implementing FSR from the stone ages? It makes no sense, FSR 2.0 and 2.1 has been out since before Endwalker came out.
Because Jap devs are always slow to adopt West tech. Name any notable japanese games with simul-releases in recent years that have updated graphical suites. Even FF7 Remake and Rebirth are on a customized UE4.
FSR 1.0 is stupid easy to implement in a game with how simplistic of an algorithm it is. Even if you half-ass the implementation, it's not gonna make a big difference, it's going to look like shit no matter what.
FSR 2.0 requires some actual dev attention, similar to DLSS, and with FSR 3.0's upscaling algorithm being different again (+ better) and being detached from the framegen feature, the optimistic gamedev bet here is basically: do a quick FSR 1.0 drop-in as a space reserver, then implement FSR 3.0 once AMD deems it ready to go. FSR 2.x is a bit of a dead-end tech by this point.
i'm willing to take a bet that the FSR/DLSS implementations are pretty recent, too. the previous info reveal stuff from January seemed to be lacking any new anti-aliasing solution, so they probably decided to implement 1.0 on the short-term for accompany DLSS. we'll then get to see if that goes anywhere for the future

Bozja was fricking based and I did that shit for fun to level random jobs while never completing a singular relic. The fates were fun and dalriada/castrum were genuinely fantastic, feeling like a real raid with dozens of other players participating. It was super cool and I'm excited for the new foray because I enjoy playing the multiplayer game with other people.
I spent almost the entirety of EW shitposting about no Bozja/Eureka while screechers shouted me down.
Then the relic quest comes out and it's tomedumping and all of a sudden I got shouted down less.
At the end of the patch cycle, people now have hindsight so much of EW was soloable and 2 hours dump to do.

Dungeons should challenge me in a way that isn't 'trying to stay awake'. I am not asking for them to take forty minutes but to be more engaging than fricking hallways that you mindlessly spam AOE buttons in. Criterion showed that if they put their mind to it, they can in fact create interesting and unique trash packs that still fulfill the 'two pack boss' methodology that they refuse to let go of, so I would like it if they used those design principles in the future. Sildihn pack two and Rokkan pack one both showcase this and are some of the most interesting and unique trash they've ever had in the game.
It is not a huge request to say "hey, I think that dungeons should require a little more out of the playerbase then to struggle to stay awake and spam shift+1/2/3 for 10 minutes". I would call it the bare minimum.

I actually like the game. I am asking for casual content to return to Stormblood and Shadowbringers standards because it felt more fun to fight things in those expansions, even in casual content. If I want to be challenged, I'll go do savage, criterion, or ultimates, because I can prog and clear that content, as I am okay at the game. I would like for dungeon trash to go to the level of criterion with less punishment because I think it would be more enjoyable for casual players, as currently the only content in dungeons that they put any effort into is the bosses.

Only two dungeons in the entire game are genuinely hard to wall to wall, and those are Stone Vigil (43) and Mt. Gulg (79). Trusts do use aoe, but they scale based on your damage. If you pull a pack and then afk the npcs will do significantly more damage to make up for you doing 0.

for rainy weather did they implement animated water on surfaces? Seriously rain just doesn't look right without you seeing the water run down or ripple on surfaces
BOTW/TOTK had the best rain visuals at least for surfaces since you can see the water pouring down the sides of buildings/structures or rippling on the ground, they even had visible splashes and droplets off your character's head and shoulders and any other horizontal surface.
BLM's design is pretty tight now and has been so for several expansions. So I sincerely doubt they change it that much. DRG and AST mains should be more scared.

Even in ARR and HW extra paths were ignored unless you were full room clearing mobs for exp chains(which they removed because of how tedious and boring that shit was since people wouldn't even finish the dungeons)

Not that anon but the second trash pull of AMR where you're fighting the tengus while wind sprites randomly blast lines across the bridge is fun. Or the second trash pull of ASS where the dullahans are patrolling and you have to do one at a time while moving around to stay of out patrol paths.
Deep dungeon trash is also really fun because nearly everything is potentially a danger. Dungeon trash is just there to spam AoEs on while they auto attack your tank, which is just not engaging. It's just a blob of shit that does nothing. Less enemies with more abilities would be more engaging, especially abilities that have to be stunned or silenced instead of just stepping out of the AoE.
Also I think it would be cool if trash packs were slightly randomized, like if each area had a pool of potential trash packs. Then it would be like random encounters in a classic FF and you get to shit yourself if you get the King Behemoth spawn or something.

Literally fricking criterion. If you want interesting dungeon content I strongly encourage you to go do criterion. It has enjoyable trash packs, interesting 'puzzle-based' boss design as well as far more reactive reads and mechanics for the bosses in general. The resurrect restriction is kind of lame but overall the design of these dungeons are fundamentally leaps and fricking BOUNDS above the rest of the game in basically every way. Even if you don't want to do it, go watch some streamer or youtube vod of the content and you will immediately understand why people who have actually done the content want that sort of design to be implemented into the main game. >you actually get to kite mobs >you get to rotate mitigation >each pack has a basic puzzle to resolve with punishments for failure
While I think the current punishments are too harsh for casuals, you can still implement the design concepts into basic dungeons and create a genuinely more fun experience then what dungeons currently are, which is tedious AOE spam while you wait for them to die.

Loved playing through the Omega raids (normal) this week. I think Alexander's story is more interesting in concept, but the straightforwardness of Omega's story kept me engaged the whole way through. The finale was pure shonenkino and I felt like crying letting Alpha go at the end.
Right now, I'm heavily considering swapping SGE and moving to SCH with an Omega-F Selene mod. I have sch at 64 so I already know I do like the job.
No but the texture resolution still looks high enough that they could have included more of the subtle skin details that the video had like the scars and tan.

No other game works this way that people consider good. There is zero justification for ARR having a desync on animations vs. snapshot other than apologists.

I hate it because it's stagnant and enforces a design that just converges every cooldown or cool thing into it. Even if you took away the group buffs, most cooldowns would still basically put everyone into a 2 minute burst period anyways. Takes away some of the flavor and identity of classes.

My only hope for them making classes easier to pick up and play is the content they will give us will be harder and more engaging. You don't need a brain to play nu-SMN like you did with old SMN. Therefore the least Yoshi can do is give more optional harder content.
Something people don't realize is that naturally aligning all party buffs and big cooldowns means that the 'bonus' damage you get from aligning that is now just expected and taken into account. It's expected as a basic level of competence. That means dps checks are made with that in mind. So with it there's both less room for failure and less room for a good player to carry morons.
A redeeming factor there is that not much in the way of content actually requires your team to be that good.

I would disagree, but it's definitely reading into dev intentions in a way I can't say is factual. I'd say the reason you don't see shit like A5's mechanics of turning into a gorilla and having to bat bombs at shit/turn into parrots to dodge ground based AOEs is that those mechanics take away from being able to hit the buttons in order, which is kind of what the 2 minute meta is. Just guaranteeing everyone gets to do their rotation with interruptions that are only at carefully curated moments that do not interfere with the burst times.

It's a big orb shaped AoE that looks like a 'flare' of some kind, there's a fire effect inside and lightning orbs, all surrounded by darkness. Fire and lightning are astral/dark elements. So maybe a Zodiark flare.

DLSS 2.0 relies on motion vectors as well, so that argument is moot.
FSR 1.0 is stupid easy to implement in a game with how simplistic of an algorithm it is. Even if you half-ass the implementation, it's not gonna make a big difference, it's going to look like shit no matter what.
FSR 2.0 requires some actual dev attention, similar to DLSS, and with FSR 3.0's upscaling algorithm being different again (+ better) and being detached from the framegen feature, the optimistic gamedev bet here is basically: do a quick FSR 1.0 drop-in as a space reserver, then implement FSR 3.0 once AMD deems it ready to go. FSR 2.x is a bit of a dead-end tech by this point.
i'm willing to take a bet that the FSR/DLSS implementations are pretty recent, too. the previous info reveal stuff from January seemed to be lacking any new anti-aliasing solution, so they probably decided to implement 1.0 on the short-term for accompany DLSS. we'll then get to see if that goes anywhere for the future

Dungeons should challenge me in a way that isn't 'trying to stay awake'. I am not asking for them to take forty minutes but to be more engaging than fricking hallways that you mindlessly spam AOE buttons in. Criterion showed that if they put their mind to it, they can in fact create interesting and unique trash packs that still fulfill the 'two pack boss' methodology that they refuse to let go of, so I would like it if they used those design principles in the future. Sildihn pack two and Rokkan pack one both showcase this and are some of the most interesting and unique trash they've ever had in the game.
It is not a huge request to say "hey, I think that dungeons should require a little more out of the playerbase then to struggle to stay awake and spam shift+1/2/3 for 10 minutes". I would call it the bare minimum.

I would like for dungeon trash to go to the level of criterion with less punishment because I think it would be more enjoyable for casual players, as currently the only content in dungeons that they put any effort into is the bosses.

Only two dungeons in the entire game are genuinely hard to wall to wall, and those are Stone Vigil (43) and Mt. Gulg (79). BOTW/TOTK had the best rain visuals at least for surfaces since you can see the water pouring down the sides of buildings/structures or rippling on the ground, they even had visible splashes and droplets off your character's head and shoulders and any other horizontal surface.

Even in ARR and HW extra paths were ignored unless you were full room clearing mobs for exp chains(which they removed because of how tedious and boring that shit was since people wouldn't even finish the dungeons)

Not that anon but the second trash pull of AMR where you're fighting the tengus while wind sprites randomly blast lines across the bridge is fun. Or the second trash pull of ASS where the dullahans are patrolling and you have to do one at a time while moving around to stay of out patrol paths.
Deep dungeon trash is also really fun because nearly everything is potentially a danger. Dungeon trash is just there to spam AoEs on while they auto attack your tank, which is just not engaging. It's just a blob of shit that does nothing. Less enemies with more abilities would be more engaging, especially abilities that have to be stunned or silenced instead of just stepping out of the AoE.
Also I think it would be cool if trash packs were slightly randomized, like if each area had a pool of potential trash packs. Then it would be like random encounters in a classic FF and you get to shit yourself if you get the King Behemoth spawn or something.

Literally fricking criterion. If you want interesting dungeon content I strongly encourage you to go do criterion. It has enjoyable trash packs, interesting 'puzzle-based' boss design as well as far more reactive reads and mechanics for the bosses in general. The resurrect restriction is kind of lame but overall the design of these dungeons are fundamentally leaps and fricking BOUNDS above the rest of the game in basically every way. Even if you don't want to do it, go watch some streamer or youtube vod of the content and you will immediately understand why people who have actually done the content want that sort of design to be implemented into the main game.

Loved playing through the Omega raids (normal) this week. I think Alexander's story is more interesting in concept, but the straightforwardness of Omega's story kept me engaged the whole way through. The finale was pure shonenkino and I felt like crying letting Alpha go at the end.
Right now, I'm heavily considering swapping SGE and moving to SCH with an Omega-F Selene mod. I have sch at 64 so I already know I do like the job.

The snapshots make sense, you just have to know how the timing/visual indicators work. The game's balanced around that weirdness.

No other game works this way that people consider good. There is zero justification for ARR having a desync on animations vs. snapshot other than apologists.

Reassemble now on a 2 minute cooldown, generates 20 battery, and takes Chainsaw/Air Anchor/Drill off cooldown and enhances the next one you use to do a bonus thing.

I'm actually happy 2 minute is the meta. It let me switch from playing on MnK to controller. My hands are feeling the toll of being a tradiewagie.
I hate it because it's stagnant and enforces a design that just converges every cooldown or cool thing into it. Even if you took away the group buffs, most cooldowns would still basically put everyone into a 2 minute burst period anyways. Takes away some of the flavor and identity of classes.
Flavor and class identity was stripped in ShB.
It was at it's best in SB.
The game will only be made easier from here on out.

My only hope for them making classes easier to pick up and play is the content they will give us will be harder and more engaging. You don't need a brain to play nu-SMN like you did with old SMN. Therefore the least Yoshi can do is give more optional harder content.
Something people don't realize is that naturally aligning all party buffs and big cooldowns means that the 'bonus' damage you get from aligning that is now just expected and taken into account. It's expected as a basic level of competence. That means dps checks are made with that in mind. So with it there's both less room for failure and less room for a good player to carry morons.
A redeeming factor there is that not much in the way of content actually requires your team to be that good.
That's kind of part of the 2 minute meta. They design bosses with it in mind as well.

I would disagree, but it's definitely reading into dev intentions in a way I can't say is factual. I'd say the reason you don't see shit like A5's mechanics of turning into a gorilla and having to bat bombs at shit/turn into parrots to dodge ground based AOEs is that those mechanics take away from being able to hit the buttons in order, which is kind of what the 2 minute meta is. Just guaranteeing everyone gets to do their rotation with interruptions that are only at carefully curated moments that do not interfere with the burst times.

XI also got rolled into the EW server rehaul, they're planning to keep that game running for many a year yet. It might EOS at 25 or 30 but idk.
Is it going to tank 40% of your FPS? As it is right now, XIV barely uses your GPU at all. It's basically a CPU game. The only thing XIV would need to do is to actually use your GPU and you'd maintain your performance without even upgrading your hardware
