all of those are outdated crap. i choose none. i refuse.
No you can't do that!!!!!!
of those? PS2 I guess. og xbox controller is kinda weird. but 360 one is still the goat.
>360 one is still the goat.
Not with that D-pad, it ain't. It's horrible for fightans and shmups. That was the very reason I bought a stick (Hori Fight Stick EX 2) for the 360, could not fricking stand the D-pad.
Gamecube easy
it will break apart. The only real answer here is Dreamcast or xbox
The frick are you doing with your GC controllers? I've still got the controller that came bundled with the console when my parents got if for me in 2003 and that thing still works flawlessly.
Play Budokai Tenkaichi 3 with friends
>BT3
Smalltime shit, I put my GC controllers through the rigors of CvS2, SoulCalibur II and Bloody Roar Primal Fury for years and they still work just as well as they did when I first got them.
gamecube controllers are tanks
Never had a single problem with my 2 controllers, theyre 21 years old and still work perfectly after thousands of hours
The most solid controller i ever had
the frick? I've been using the same GCN controller for ALMOST A QUARTER OF A CENTURY and it's fine
gonna have to go with Sony here, I'm not special needs enough for any of the others
I don't know if I could into the Dreamcast pad, and the OG xbox controller was frickhuge for no reason.
gamecube is max comfy and PS2 is basically perfect
the best joystick is the one between my legs.
ps controller has remained the same for like 30 years. its solid
kiss sucks
Xbox has dual analog and triggers. Bumpers by the face buttons are superior too.
PS2 since it's the only one with a functioning d-pad.
Yes, I don't know why so many controllers have dogshit dpads or why so many people seem to think they're good. Like...
What? No. That dpad is shit. Frick you.
Correct opinions.
Patrician taste.
A good dpad is required. Many controllers are instantly disqualified.
This, cant' say anything for the Duke as I never used it but out of the other three choices the PS2 pad is the only one that has every part of it working correctly and more buttons than the GC and DC.
All of those suck
I've only used the ps2 and gc controllers in this image so I'd have to pick the ps2 controller, but the Dreamcast and xbox controller do look comfortable
if it's controllers overall I'd probably pick the Switch Pro controller but wii u gamepad and dualsense are also up there
Wii U Pro controller is the best controller Nintendo ever made. I'm still unhappy when I think of how much better it was compared to the Switch Pro.
Duke has the best dpad and the correct analog placement but the black/red buttons are fricking moronic so it's a tough one. PS2's controller was mushy crap but I guess I go with that since it's the most relatable control scheme.
Only a tiresome moron would ever choose the Dreamcast controller. It's absolute garbage.
I still use cheap chink copy of dualshock for emulators and bad nip ports on my pc
It just works
DS2
You can't go wrong with the greatest controller ever made
steam controller or MnK
duh
ds2
I wish they took the concept of the Dreamcast controller and developed it further in modern systems.
>system memory is stored in your controller
>the controller also has a little screen on it that can display artwork specific to the game, or maybe data like your current HP or ammo or something.
A modern day equivalent of the technology is the Nintendo Switch.
It was called the Wii U and you didn't buy one
The issue with the VMU screen was that you had to be in a well lit environment to even see it, and like the Wii U pad showed it was hard to keep your attention on two different screens at the same time when one is in your lap and the other in front of you.
Plus it ate up batteries like mad even if you didn't play the VMU games on it, I'm sure 90 percent of anybody's DC playtime had the battteries dead and the controller signalling to everybody within a 10 mile radius that you turned the console on with it's loud ass BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP.
DS2 is the best all-arounder. DC and GC controllers have shit d-pads and are missing buttons, the duke only has 2 shoulders.
The Dreamcast controller is cool and surprisingly comfortable but unfortunately it feels like a third party controller with cheap plastic and bad buttons, I've never actually used a Gamecube controller but it looks like a stupid fisher price toy, I love six buttoned controllers like the Xbox, but the Dpad looks and feels like a piece of melted plastic and it's just too yuge. Dualshock is kinda boring and its pretty much a Snes controller with handles and analog sticks (which isn't a bad thing) but it just works, and the analog buttons of the DS2 is pretty cool I guess.
Ratings: Dualshock>DUKE>Dreamcast
Duke
and it's not close
GameCube
Dreamcast is at a huge disadvantage because of the lack of a second stick unless you can throw some card in it to add gyro which doesn't exist.
Dualshock has always been the worse controller to hold and the left analog stick makes it even worse.
Xbox is really the only other right choice and thats down to preference.
So GameCube is my choice, it's just as comfortable and natural as the xbox to hold, I can play 2d stuff with a stick even if it isn't preferable and there's still a second stick for camera control.
PS2 of the ones listed, overall best control scheme. Gotta say though I have those Gamecube joycons made by Doyoky and I fricking love them
GC, But honestly, I'm very biased towards Nintehndo shit.
Wasn't Nintendo going to scrap the d pad from the GC controller but added it at the last second because of autism? Also did any games even use it?
Zelda TP used it for items
always bet on the duke. i'll take my copy of morrowind goty, halo and mk armageddon to go.
PS2. Normally I’m a Xbox guy but the rule is to big for my small hands.
Guess I'd go with PS2 then. The Duke was actually good imo but I can't imagine liking it for literally ever game. I know the PS2 controller could satisfy with just about every genre I would want to play. The GC and DC controller are not even considered as possibilities kek. And I loved the Dreamcast btw.
majority of the time i use mouse and keyboard for games but if i need a controller ive been using my old ps2 ones for like 10,15 years so i guess id pick those
I choose prime suffering
I use a wireless GC switch now. Being able to press all the buttons because they are different heights is too good to pass up.
If it has to be one of those, The Duke. I would choose the Gamecube controller but the d-pad is painful to use and the C-stick is awful. If I could choose any controller I would just go with the XBOX Series X controller.
Does the DC controller's gimmick work for all the games I play going forward? If not. PS2
consoles are for losers
Ps2, definitely
did they ever make a dreamcast controller with 2 sticks or did it die before they could get that far?
best games
>GC
best controller
>DC
most likely to get a hj while playing
>xbox
best dvd player
>PS2
Is here maybe a game dev guy?
- looking for exchange.
PS2. Very versatily and still works like a charm
That wasn't MS's logo in 2001. That's their new one.
Both controllers and console preferences in general for that matter:
PS2 > Dreamcast > Xbox > GCN.
THE DUKE BABY
How is this a challenge at all? Its obviously the PlayStation controller. Why the frick would anyone pick the other ones?
>t. handlet
The sticks feel weird.
Game cube
The dualshock 2 is the best controller ever made.
PS2 is the only non-shit one.
Wired 360.
kb+m
But if I have to pick one, the DS2 is fine
Ps2>Xbox
>>>>>Dc
>Xbox > DC
You better not mean the Duke, that D-pad was a joke, far worse than the DC's. DC's was at least good enough for me to 1CC Ikaruga with it, so it's okay in my book.
Gamecube, easy.
Most ergonomic out of all of those, and its face button layout is far better than the grid-like system of the others. Also had pressure sensitive triggers with a secondary function when fully pressed(only some games utilized this, however.)
Only thing that'd make it perfect is an extra bumper above the left trigger.
PS controllers are too small, but the stick placement is better for shooters: otherwise worse in any other game type. Used to use a PS3 controller to play emulated games with and it always cramped my hands with how small it was. Old xbox controller is awful with its face button placement. Dreamcast only has one stick so it's an immediate no.
Best controller not listed is the xbox360 controller by far.
Xbox360 wired usb.
Defeated the snoygames fanboy. You didn't specify you had to choose from the four.
Wavebird
DS2 easily
The Dreamcast controller is pure technological sovl
Dualshock 2 has the most functions, the face buttons are pressure sensitive, and replaying MGS3 without that functionality is tough.
How the frick is this a choice? PS2 is the one controller there that gives the most buttons along with access to them
>four shoulder buttons that are actually designed to each have a finger resting on it at all times
Nintendo and microsoft both just ended up copying sony.
Out of that list of outdated crap? PS2.
Overall? Xbox ONE or PS2
just tear out the screen and call it a day
Or give me the Dualshock 3 if it doesn't count.
> tear out the screen, replace the hole with a keyboard.
Am I right?
Dude whoever decided to call the shoulder buttons "Bumper" & "Trigger" needs to be shot
Gamecube.
>only one stick for dreamcast
While I do have big hands I need something besides a D-pad to move the camera.
PS2 easiest choice of my life
Gamecube but with left shoulder and an extra menu/start button.
Ps2
For me, it's Dreamcast. My only issues with it are the lack of C and Z buttons and the terrible D-pad.
Now, if this were a fifth or fourth gen controller thread...
Frick off with that shit!!
I love the Super Nintendo controller above all others.
no
I'd rather have their arcade stick than that controller.
Saturn is better
don't mind me, just improving your controller 10x.
best controller ever
Mentioned, kek. You know the drill, most of the time they just change thumbsticks and dpad around and that's it, lmao. Xbox won, snoys seethe and nintendies cuck to the King of controllers. (Their consoles fell off after 360 though.)r
>(Their consoles fell off after 360 though.)
True. Their controller is the only redeeming feature right now. 360 was pure soul
duke
gamecube
Ps2 is the only one with a good dpad
I'm not playing 2d games with a stick
Catalogue PS2 MOGS
But fuuuuck that controller
Dualshock 2 is a cheap version of Dualshock 1 frick.
Dreamcast controller sucks aswell.
GC controller wins here.
Dualsense mogs all of them and all controllers.
Depends on what games I have to look forward too
Each controller feels right for certain experiences
Dreamcast for sports and party
PS for puzzles
GC for platformers
XB for shooters
everything gamecube can do the xbox can do just as well if not better and I say this as a huge gc baby
>Each controller feels right
The PS2 controller is CHEAP plastic CHEAP.
It never feels right I have old official controllers and new and fake ones, its the cheapest controller EVER followed by the Dualshock 3.
Dreamcast... Im playing a lot recently, good quality plastic SHIT ERGONOMICS it literally bruises my finger because of the bulging back part and in general I keep readjusting my hand BAD ERGONOMIC BAD.
Gamecube no complains, slightly cheaper then Dreamcast but the most ergonomic,it actually holds up.
Never had the xbox one but looks to big ,looks to be good quality like a better dreamcasrt controller
Black person the only problems I ever faced with my PS2 controllers were the dog nose caps sliding around because of mashing the stick up in God Hand, I still use one of my original controllers for my PC with no issues, stop testing your controllers by smashing them.
DualShock 2 is Chinese cheap crap
DualShock 1 is God tier
DualShock 3 is crap again
DualShock 4 is almost as good as DS1
Dualsense is the best controller ever.
Its crap feeling dude the buttons suck hard! The triggers what the frick is that? Spongy short button like and its so brittle.
The PlayStation 1 controller(DS) is a TANK is so well made, they cut corners for the DualShock 2 hard.
Bro that spongy feeling allowed you to have 0.5 X presses in your games, and it was fricking great but no one else gave a frick so it got kicked out, what a travesty.
The Duke cuz I'm not a small-handed manlet
Dreamcast controller was wider than the duke
PS2
Xbox is the least awful ergonomically but only having two shoulder buttons is a deal breaker.
>GameCube
1 Z button shoulder plus obnoxious triggers and a terrible D Pad
>Dreamcast
1 analog stick and no second set of shoulder buttons
>Xbox Duke
Obnoxious design, if it was S I would choose it over PS2 maybe, but that still only has 1 set of shoulder buttons.
>PS2
Easily the best controller in the picture. Has all the things you actually need and it's very comfortable. Controllers have barely changed since PS2 for a reason. It's perfect
I'm good.
Gamecube Controller. Easiest pick ever. Now, if the 360 controller was in the mix, then this would be mad hard.
PS2 because it has everything you need
PS2 > GameCube > Duke Xbox > Dreamcast
Don't (You) me
hi
