As a kid, I remember having fun with all missions, actually. I don't remember a mission that I found annoying, even the watermelon one of the giant bird ones gave you a good sense of satisfaction after beating them. The only thing preventing me from giving it a 10/10 is the Blue Coins. I don't know why they couldn't implement a system so you could track them. Couldn't be that hard to program, just tell the player "Blue Coins left: X out of Y" whenever they start a new level and that's it, or have the tanuki tell you how many coins are left in each world .
I didn't see a reason to do so other than a dumb little post-credits image. At least in SM64 you had the top of the castle. >b-but muh sunshades and hawaiian shirt
are both available by the time you get to the volcano and don't require 100%ing it
I did, except my save file permanently glitched out on the last star and counted it as physically "collected" without actually iterating the counter. So the file was stuck at 119 and wouldn't register it as a 100% completion rate
This. Putting a collectible that requires you to meticulously comb every chapter of every level, along with every bonus stage, and the main overworld with no indicator of which ones you've already gotten was the most moronic shit Nintendo's ever done in a Mario game
The only thing that sunshine would need to fix it is some kind of semi progression. Because all blue coins, all bonus stars, and all stage stars after the seventh are entierly worthless if you're not going for one hundred percent.
Ok, I'm lying, because the Sunglasses vendor is just that, but we could have used some more, especially since there's 120 shines totalt and you just need 30 to get the sunglasses.
sunshine is by far the worst 3d mario game to 100% and it's not even close >i did it as a kid
yeah you used a walkthrough for the blue coins homosexual you didn't actually suffer the way they intended you to
There's gotta be other games out there to play. Getting 100% in SMS and getting all the shitty blue coins sounds fricking awful. I can't imagine what it's like to constantly attempt to get 100% in games, I'd never fricking play new games.
I got to around 75 sprites and realized the rest of the game was blue coin hunting and garbage episode 8s and called it there. The game up to unlocking the final boss is good. Post game is garbage.
What a soulless completion image. They couldnt even have it take place at a beach and have everyone celebrating?
Sunshine really feels like the opposite of a vacation.
you homosexuals so fricking bad at video games holy shit. there are only two moronic blue coins in the entire game and they're both located in pianta village. everything else is a cakewalk and has no excuse for missing
The individual coin doesn't matter even if it might be moronic. What's moronic is how a coin could be scenario specific allowing you to miss it entirely. There should have been a counter or some sort of indication of this but an online guide works just as well nowadays anyway. Still fun to 100% regardless
No. The pack-less levels were the only good ones.
i think anyone who 100% sunshine has fricking brain damage
Why is that?
Because the fact that your "reward" for putting hours to 100% the game is so shitty makes you so angry you get brain cancer.
What about the possibility that getting shines is fun in and of themselves? And yes I'm aware there are a few annoying shrines.
Shines*

Why get angry?
Easy on an emulator.
Kind of sucks that the only thing you get is a picture.

i actually did because im not a casual
Just because I hate your guts OP I'm gonna 100% it this week on 3 separate saves.
I did, except my save file permanently glitched out on the last star and counted it as physically "collected" without actually iterating the counter. So the file was stuck at 119 and wouldn't register it as a 100% completion rate
Nah, that's not a thing that can happen.
It actually is. Same thing happened to me.
Yup. Played it for the first time on 3D All Stars and 100% it in a week. Didn't look up any guides or anything.
Frick trying to get all the blue coins!

poor phoneposting babby QQ
no because 100% Mario games have never been worth it
What games even have good 100% completion rewards?
Spyro 1's is pretty fun. Getting to steal all of Gnasty's Loot in his hoarde is pretty satisfying.
The satisfaction of doing everything you can in a game is more than enough. If you didn't like the game, don't 100% it
keep telling yourself that
>keep telling yourself that
classic cope
I'll have fun while you seethe over a game nobody forced you to play
whatever you say
This is a good reaction image for those who make the ultimate sacrifice.
I have! Twice in the same year. Once on original hardware, again when 3D All-Stars came out. It's not that bad.
No, the blue coins are cancer

Frick no.
Got filtered by Yoshi.

>w-where's my tasklist?!
jump off a cliff and send your legs into your chest zoomer
Once and only once. It's not fun.
I did on gamecube and again when they brought it to switch. It's totally not worth doing, there's nothing interesting about hunting blue coins.
Yes, I never 100% it as a kid so I decided I'd do it when it came to Switch. Never doing that again. Frick the blue coins.
yeah and I didn't enjoy the blue coins shit
