To beat a game you need to 100% it in every way and literally find every hidden secret in it as well as exhaust all dialog with NPCs, pick up every item, etc. Anything less and you didn't beat it.

When I was a kid I was staying up late playing FF7 on my Playstation. I was fighting Emerald Weapon without using the Underwater Materia and didn't have KOTR or the Mime materia. Strongest summon I had was Bahamut ZERO which took forever to do it's damage so you didn't want to cast it anyway.
I managed to beat it and in my excitement I shutdown the PS1 without saving. I only realized the next day what I had done.

I remember doing KotR + mimic materia, a couple of casts and even Sephiroth's final fase melts down.

that still nothing considering KOTR does like 150k damage, both emerald and ruby have 1 million/2 mill hp respectively

I never played FF7 and even I know that summon makes the last boss get loads more hp
but it's pretty irrelevant because it's piss easy regardless
