Of course I don't, why would I do that?
I only play games I enjoy.
i usually drop games when im bored for some time and i boot it up again after weeks or months turns out ive forgotten all the lore and controls and i just drop the game completely
For the most part I agree. But obviously you shouldn't partake in discussions on story or difficulty curve etc. if you haven't seen all the game has to offer.
you can absolutely discuss your experience with it, it will just be hard to keep up if you haven't a clue about stuff that gets brought up
I still play league, since it started, and today, will play tomorrow
>game is good
>story is good
>enjoy it a lot
>stop halfway through because of irl obligations
>months pass
>time to play vidya again
restart or continue from where you left off?
Continue, I find that most of the time I just need to get in the groove again and then I'm good. I fricking took a break playing Wind Waker for 3 years, from first grade to fourth grade and I was still able to continue on the same savefile.
holy shit, we both took forever to play Wind Waker what are the fricking odds
it's funny, I used to autistically finish games even if I didn't like them and now I don't finish the vast majority of games I play
continue, I get tired of it more easily if I start over
the longest continue I've done is I've reloaded a save file 3 years later, played for a while dropped it, and then loaded it up again another 3 years later, 6 years after having started the game, and then I finally finished Wind Waker. playing a saved game that old feels like some time travel.
Wait a full year
I've restarted so many games because of that.
From top of my head
BG2
Kingmaker
Underrail
Pathologic 2
Arcanum
Spellforce
It depends on the game and my playtime when I stop. 20hrs is pretty much the limit I'm willing to reset at. But realistically most of the time they just end up in a purgatory where it's been too long to reset but I can't remember enough to continue playing
depends on the kind of game, for example I played Incredible Hulk Ultimate Destruction like forever ago and never finished it but it was kicking rad so I'd totally start it over but if I ever get back on Dragon Quest III there's no way in hell I'm starting that again from the beginning
If short game restart, if a long ass game just continue
If it's a more action game I might just restart. An RPG after like 20 hours already put into it, I'll just look up any info I might've forgotten.
Wait a few months or a year and then play it from the start. If I really enjoyed the game that much I don't mind replaying sections.
I don't buy games that I don't enjoy playing to begin with.
I stop playing the minute I'm no longer having fun
I even do this in multiplayer games
I've been playing vidya since the atari 2600 era, I don't have time to not having fun
No, I leave them alone for years at a time before I'm in the mood for them.
I very rarely finish. I play a lot of games, if irl gets in the way I almost never return to them even if they are great, I end up just starting a new game or playing nothing til the new game I want comes out.
Not finishing something eats away at me
How much of you is left?
Not much
I did that with the first two Shenmue games. Cleared them out of spite. Never played the third one, heard it was even worse than 1 & 2. (which is a feat in and of itself)
Not often. If I get tired of a game I’ll look up the ending and call it a wash.
No, particularly games that when they start to approach the end, not having enough endgame content, they make you grind forever to clear the last level.
Frick That Shit, i quit them and dont even feel sorry.
I finish every game I start. Not only because I want to make sure I at least reached the end before forming an opinion but also, while I don't defend the "it gets good after 20 hours", some games can take a while to really click.
>Friend lends me DMC1 back in the day
>Try it but end up quitting after a couple of levels, had never played anything like it
>Years go by and I try again
>Takes a bit to really get a nice feel for it
>Once it did it was a blast throughout, even replayed it a few times
The past several games I've played I have made it to the last level, or the final boss, and stopped playing there. Not because it was bad or anything, but there's also no real reason to feel compelled to beat it neither. I'd seen 99% of the game already, maybe it's time to play something that could be equally fun?
I once forced myself to complete something that I was supposed to be doing for enjoyment just to see if I would have some kind of eye-opening experience and I learned to never ever do that again.
Disingenuous clickbait for your numale video essay. Yes you need to finish the game to review it. Frick you
I forced myself to fully explore the TotK Depths thinking "there is no way it's just two different biomes and a mini-dungeon, there has to be something else down here"
Kinda agree since game developers don't finish their own games anymore.
If I didn't "force myself" to do things I would spend the rest of my life scrolling through Ganker and eating chips
I don’t even get 100% completion on games I do like. Usually, anyway.
The overwhelming majority of people hardly play the games they buy, let alone finish.
No one cares about "not finishing games," they care about not finishing games and pretending like you did and claiming to love them and be a fan of them.
depends on the game. hyrule warriors, no. Death stranding, yes. it depends on the length of the game, gameplay itself, and the size of the game.
