For real. In 3 I swear to god there were multiple times the game just bottlenecks you through certain bosses. Whereas in 2 you had like 4 different routes right off the bat that constantly split up and sure, they rarely converged back together but it felt grand.
You basically only have one path in 3, even if you kill the dancer you run into a dead end. It's just a huge slog to do the same levels in the same order every time. I lose all motivation to replay it and that's why I have the least time in the game compared to the rest of the series. In 2 you can start so many different builds right off the bat.
