This has literally never happened to me and I've played online RPGs of all kinds since 2000. Has this kind of incompetence even been possible for decades now? The worst you EVER get is a rollback of 1-2 hours and even that's exceedingly rare (D2R release comes to mind).

I was hoping they would fix class balance at some point, but if this is the "release" then I don't think they ever will. Some classes are god tier while others are simply trash.
And I would kill for this game to support attack-and-move on one button again (it was in version 0.8, but it stopped working in 0.9 and they never fixed it).
They're probably just rushing to get it out before POE 2 releases, which is a smart business decision honestly, but it's still unfortunate that they can't fix things like class balance or bugs.
The skill trees are fantastic but everything else drags it down, especially the bugs.

Yeah, the newer classes are just better than the old ones. Sorcerer is a pretty good class, but Runemaster is the newest class and is better than Sorcerer in almost every way. I imagine Warlock and Falconer will be even better when they're released.

As someone who has played every ARPG in existence (aside from super obscure ones, I guess) I can safely say that anyone who says "IT DOESN'T FEEL GOOD" is a moron. The game feels completely fine. It's obviously not as smooth as something like Diablo 3, but it's also not even close to being as bad as people attempt to make it seem.

PoE is a gambling game disguised as an ARPG (also a game for emotional kids disguised as an adult game).
D4 means giving money to Blizzard so it's a no-no.
Wolcen is abandoned.
Chaosbane is abandoned.
Grim Dawn/TQ is just dull attacks plus use secondary skills on bosses sometimes. Nothing fancy.
And then we have Last Epoch which looks as generic as Wolcen. Maybe a bit better fleshed out.

Chronicon, Hero Siege, Ghostlore, Slormancer are all good and cheap indie ARPGs that are worth checking out. Modded Torchlight 2 can be fun for a few days. There's some very good mods for Diablo 2 like Median XL, Project Diablo 2, Path of Diablo, etc.

I also enjoyed some ARPGs like Shadows: Awakening but was looking for something with an end game or sandbox mode (something like Len's Island but less cartoony and more character developement I suppose, which maybe that's what's closer to V-Rising idk).

Grim Dawn is so fricking overrated it's insane. It's one of the most boring ARPGs because the first 90% of the game is insanely slow and boring. There's a reason why it's called Grim Yawn. Titan Quest is good, I personally like it a lot, but it's very old and as a result is janky, has a bad UI, bad animations, etc., and doesn't really have much content. You can completely the whole game + expansions in like 30-40 hours and then there's nothing left to do.

I played LE for 50h and GD for 80. All of those 80h I waited for the game to get good and it never did.

Again this is not how the arpg environment works at all, people rotate between league launches. They might even play d4 for like 2 days on launch until content runs out in that shit game. PoE and LE seem like the ones with most potential for now to keep you playing for longer than a week on each league launch.

I like it a lot it's just been in extended EA for so long I don't feel there's much to talk about.
I don't know what it is with ARPG and Ganker burnouts either but most people here and on /vrpg/ aren't worth talking to about it. They're either totally brainwashed into liking ugly skinner bloat from POE or willing to camp D2 nostalgia for the rest of their life when they don't even play it anymore.
It has some genuinely great stuff, the DOT mechanics, shapeshifting, falcon rogue, and time travel theme are all awesome, genuinely good aesthetics and build mechanics overall and I plan to jump on the rune mage that focuses on golems when it fully releases.

PoE is one of the ugliest games i've ever played and never really feels anything more than a skinnerbox
My problem with it is it felt devoid of any identity. Nothing really felt like it was bringing anything new to the table and was merely trying to fix problems with other arpgs and its assets aren't really too interesting either, it looks and sounds just okay. It doesn't hit the niche of degenerate farming like poe does and it also misses the ultra casual no brain diablo side of things too which reduces its appeal
blizzard talks down to you for sanitising the diablo 2 remaster and removing breasts and sex appeal from their game and then charges you $20 for this

Pretty much every single one of them diablo-likes can frick off, except Diablo 2 1.13 because it has Hero Editor and Pluggy.
Inherent issue of every single (yes, even D2) diablo-like is that its a shitty gambling simulator for items and poorly made loot systems. And if such games were to forgo it - theywould just become isometric action games, which is just plain shit, because at no point any dev would know how to do it right (well, there is Sacred and Divinity).
TLDR: no modkit = no buy.
And if its all about "muh microtransactions!" - sell DLC equivalent of cosmetics kit. Conan Exiles did that before Funcom was bought by Tencent.

How about the fact that all diablo-likes have going for them in terms of RPG is building char through items. Not char's actual build, not actual quest decisions that influence access to resources/etc. Just the usual item = power. Now go get the 6 right affixes on rare and that unique that has one in a million drop chance (that devs actually rigged to never drop).

Nah. I got my pc after 16, and played D2 for a long time after i was 25. Basically, i never got sucked in into gambling horseshit that my firends did. Im also averse to gambling.
Anyway, atleast with Hero Editor i was able to do a lot of funky stuff with items and chars. Sword+Board amazon, staff+fire enchant assassin, crossbow paladin, etc. Turning shit uniques and set items into good stuff was neat, same with changing uniques to change the way class skills add, so that other classes can also use them.
