Buckshot Roulette officially hit 1,000,000 copies sold on Steam
now proceed to tell me why can't you make something similar in a week and become a successful videogame developer.

i don't want to rely on my game getting randomly popular with streamers
>make something similar in a week and become a successful videogame developer.
Because there's no gurantee that my game will stand out enough to be popular. It's kind of like Vividlope where it's very well developed but still relativly non-mainstream.
Also this. There's no way of making it without shilling the hell out of your game until someone with a bigger audience decides to play it.
or maybe people just aren't interested in puzzle games
>i don't want to rely on my game getting randomly popular with gamers
Do you hate money? It's not gonna get popular any other way.
i don't want my games to get popular
>do you hate money?
yes
it is immoral to engage with capitalism
I'm immortal if I engage in capitalism?
palestine lost
because i do not care to be flavor of the week
i agree, but you point it out in a way that brings no connection with the topic discussed
not the game thing. buckshot got specifically popular because of streamers.
popularity is not quality
almost none. the first chapter of Inscryption has 100x the depth.
wtf
bro praised a game then proceed to try and start an argument with me
i'm too busy playing videogames to make a videogame. if i wasn't so obsessed with videogames i would have time to make one but then it wouldn't be any good. i have a big list of ideas/concepts. it's for a ps1 style survival horror/rpg similar in vibe to like a parasite eve or galerians with touches of zelda and final fantasy. once ai art is good enough to produce consistent prerendered backgrounds i'll consider starting it
I know the game is a bit unrealistic but the Inverter is a bit out of place, you literally do magic to change the round
I just won this game about 15 minutes ago
Good timing op
Haven't tried double or nothing yet
>make something similar in a week
This dev was extremely receptive to criticism, bugs, and recommendations, and he actually got off his ass to do it fast. It's a simple game, but it's high quality. Compare it to the thousands of furshit games that never leave 0.01 alpha
instantly thought of kobold adventure
The game is dogshit, it got lucky and probably the funny face guy drew in kids in the era of FNAF ripoffs.
>the game is dogshit
mmm
>dealer uses magnifying glass
>proceeds to shoot himself
Quality.
Is there any strategy, or depth to this game, or is it just quite literally rolling the dice?
Most of the strategy comes in the form of items, which can alter the odds of you winning or losing a lot.
depending on the situation, your choice can increase your probability of winning. but there are situations where you do not have enough resources or information to make it out alive.
All rounds are winnable if you're skill enough.
I hate the concept of satisfying needs of the crowd
>I dont want people to play my games, know about them, or share them because a streamer might make a silly face while playing it or I might make money or even worse, it becomes popular
If this thread is to believed, niche devs are just as moronic as indie and AAA devs, how do we fix this
>I dont want people to play my games, know about them, or share them because a streamer might make a silly face while playing it or I might make money or even worse, it becomes popular
yes, this is what i believe. do you actually have anything to point out about what is wrong with this approach?
You dont want to make a game, you want to make a program that nobody will use. In fact, since no one played it, did it even really exist?
>but I played it
Must have been awful to make you too embarassed to show people
>its not
Nobody can ever confirm this for you
>You dont want to make a game, you want to make a program that nobody will use.
it's still a game. and i don't want noone to use it, i just don't care for popularity or money.
>In fact, since no one played it, did it even really exist?
yes, i made it and enjoyed it
>Must have been awful to make you too embarassed to show people
i am not embarassed, i just do not care for popularity. again, you did not point out a single reason why i should care. to prove that i am not embarassed, my games are here: https://landsofgames.com/old/topic/games/games.html
>its not
its not what?
No talent. Simple as.
