The Answer still happens no matter what so they had to make Yukari and Aigis take it more personally than the others and that's why they make it clear that they still have feelings for Door. Fuuka and Mitsuru are clearly shaken but don't dwell on it nearly as much.
While sad, I prefer this over the Schrodinger love interest that P4 and P5 use a lot, where if you choose to go for that path then they always loved you, but if you don't confess then they don't make any move to imply they ever liked you. It's jarring and not good for the characters I think.

Min max your Tartarus runs by getting the fortune that spawns more gold hand enemies.
Even after I reach the border floors, I rerun through older floors until my SP runs out so I have enough money until the next floor is unlocked.
I do this and honestly they don't make a huge difference. It's mostly a bunch of 5 sp items. You get more by destroying those things in tartarus and also by using the clock since you swim in fragments anyway.

It's fine to start with P3. I started with P3FES and I loved it. Reload is a huge improvement in many ways. Excludes some small things like you can't use every weapon type on the MC anymore, but the other improvements more than make up for it. Give it a shot.

Nothing will ever reach P3's stakes anyway. The Fall was pretty much the absolute death of all carbon-based lifeforms on the planet. It might be possible to recover from anything else. P1, P2, P4, P5, no matter what happens, as long as there's some form of life left, the possibility of recovery isn't absolutely zero. But if literally everything on the planet dies, then that's a decisive end to all possibility. You can't get more final than that. Things can't get better, nor can they get worse. It's just eternal stagnation.
Personally I think that even if Nyx, or any other antagonist for that matter won, while really bad for a lot of people, it being the end of the world globally is too much of a stretch.

Yukari, on the other hand, got a massive downgrade. I don't like her new VA compared to the original one STUPID homosexual LITTLE wienerSUCKER and something about her new portraits is really uncanny valley-esque. Mitsuru also got a VA downgrade. Aigis suffered the least but I think the new artstyle makes her look too cute and not robotic enough, like I think her eyes used to look a lot more cybernetic.
I'll be really honest about this, as someone whose favorite Persona game by far and away was once P3P (mainly because I was able to play it endlessly in bed back when I was in school), but playing P3R after P5R I'm really not sure which one I like more. The back-ported improvements to Persona 3 really increase the fluidity of everything, but when I think about comparing the two, it's hard to tell which one I like more.
Which is not to say I think either game is bad. I shamelessly put 90 hours into Persona 5 Royal, and I imagine it'll be a similar story with Persona 3 Reload, but the 5 cast really grew on me in a way that was much less pronounced in Persona 3 OG. If Reload significantly ramps up the character dynamics maybe it'll be a good contender. Either way, good game, annoying that I need to choose between playing Persona 3 Reload, Granblue Fantasy Relink, and Baldur's Gate 3 for the umpteenth time, but at least they're all quality games.
Dungeons are significantly better, there's actual designs now.

I think Baton passing in Royal was great, and something they should keep, but the thing is that they did not rebalance Royal around the new gameplay mechanics. If P6 has the game balanced around having that stuff then it will already have the makings of a good entry.

P3R made me feel a bit better about the story but I think the first half of persona 3 outside of social links is weaker just due to the fact there's no looming threat outside of "defeat the shadows" and yukari questioning mitsuru
There's also the problem of the dead zone around the end of the year. P3's pacing issues were identified long ago. The new content might help a little bit by adding more scenes to break stuff up.
Yeah, I'm surprised they didn't polish it as much as they should have. A lot of the social links are still boring and require you to encourage the characters self destructive impulses to maximize the points, and the story still has some batches where something else could have been added.
Well, the second point is deliberate, isn't it? Yu and Ren are different takes on helping people through positivity, but in P3 you build social links by manipulating, hence the reward at the end. Doesn't change the fact that most of 3's are trash that didn't need to be kept.

It's been retranslated, but it keeps very close to the original Japanese script. In terms of censoring, the beach scene is easily the most blatant example and a clear exception overall. The scene was also changed in Japanese, so the translators would have had to go off-script to keep the same gag. Only other slight censor worth mentioning is that the shower scene shows a little less skin, but it's still there in full effect otherwise. In short, yeah, it's pretty low censorship here. You just about covered all of it.

I mean, it's still Persona 3. The new monad stuff is good, but I can't shake the feeling they should have done more. The new shadow behaviors are good but are almost never scene or used in an interesting way. Tarturus itself is kinda more bland now in terms of aesthetics and design. I have a taste of a lot of the new content is kinda mid where it boils down to 5 new lines and not much more. The only thing really cool that is new is Monad, and it's only a small part of the combat. You get what I'm trying to say how it's mostly just P3 again?

Tartaros fricking sucks and it's repetitive as frick, it's like they took Persona 5 and removed the interesting parts, bosses, dungeons per bosses, demons, even the majority of the confidants are bland.
The game can sell well, but still is inferior to P5/P5R, they lost the oportunity to make it less repetitive and the dungeons more interesting with Palaces. No one plays P5 just for Mementos.
Atlus has a very stern sort of stance when it comes to remakes or enhanced version. They don't set out to change things, but only set out to either add things or try to enhance things. It's good for people who don't want to see a FF7 Remake situation for a Persona game, but it has its own downsides as well.
I like Reload, but I knew I was essentially getting P3 with a new coat of paint which is why I'm glad there is going to be a new Hashino game by the end of this year because P6 is a year or 2 away.

P4G is still my favorite persona game, even after Reloaded since my vita was my only friend at college. P3R is a pretty mature/dark story where you dont really make friends with your party members cause you're trying to save the world from being destroyed while Persona 4 is the literal power of friendship and the stakes arent as high so theres more time to fool around and get a scooter license.
So I'd probably base it on how you want your jrpg to be, but P3R is so fricking good I wish we would get P4G remake proper

He's not particularly helpful outside of Debilitate and his second Theurgy. Also his Theurgy charges slowly against bosses because bosses have no weaknesses to exploit. You can really tell that they deliberately gimped him due to how broken his Theurgy is.

Equip a persona with high Agi so you get to act first. Debuffs are your friends, early on red enemies are vulnerable to CC aswell so try casting Pulinpa, Marin Karin,...

FES upscaled looks pretty neat, wish we got a P4G style remaster for FES (in ADDITION to Reload), just as an option, and for preservation purposes if anything. FES screenshots look cool, but the game runs like dogshit on the emulator, 30 fps lock + insane menu lag.

It's a video game. The game's world and elements reflect your actions and your choices. P3 was interesting because it was all in on the sim angle and did weird shit like making your party members uncontrollable. But 4 and 5 are much better games for how they develop the Social Link system for the game part of the game.
I think the problem lies on the philosophy behind the party members. In 4 and 5, they are the focus of the story where they get their designated spotlight and development, while the rest is tied to how well you accomplish it, making your relationship to that person important matter gameplay wise with the final reward being their improved persona. This also comes at the cost of them fading in the background of the main story after their focus in the story is removed. In 3, while they get less one on one character interactions, them being independent from your own progress makes them much better at working with the overall story.
There should be a middle ground where you can interact with them properly and tie that to the gameplay without that meaning that they just become a gimmicky cheerleader during the serious scenes.

The Answer still happens no matter what so they had to make Yukari and Aigis take it more personally than the others and that's why they make it clear that they still have feelings for Door. Fuuka and Mitsuru are clearly shaken but don't dwell on it nearly as much.
While sad, I prefer this over the Schrodinger love interest that P4 and P5 use a lot, where if you choose to go for that path then they always loved you, but if you don't confess then they don't make any move to imply they ever liked you. It's jarring and not good for the characters I think.

It's fine to start with P3. I started with P3FES and I loved it. Reload is a huge improvement in many ways. Excludes some small things like you can't use every weapon type on the MC anymore, but the other improvements more than make up for it. Give it a shot.

Nothing will ever reach P3's stakes anyway. The Fall was pretty much the absolute death of all carbon-based lifeforms on the planet. It might be possible to recover from anything else. But if literally everything on the planet dies, then that's a decisive end to all possibility. You can't get more final than that. Things can't get better, nor can they get worse. It's just eternal stagnation.
Personally I think that even if Nyx, or any other antagonist for that matter won, while really bad for a lot of people, it being the end of the world globally is too much of a stretch.

I'll be really honest about this, as someone whose favorite Persona game by far and away was once P3P (mainly because I was able to play it endlessly in bed back when I was in school), but playing P3R after P5R I'm really not sure which one I like more. The back-ported improvements to Persona 3 really increase the fluidity of everything, but when I think about comparing the two, it's hard to tell which one I like more.
Which is not to say I think either game is bad. I shamelessly put 90 hours into Persona 5 Royal, and I imagine it'll be a similar story with Persona 3 Reload, but the 5 cast really grew on me in a way that was much less pronounced in Persona 3 OG. If Reload significantly ramps up the character dynamics maybe it'll be a good contender. Either way, good game, annoying that I need to choose between playing Persona 3 Reload, Granblue Fantasy Relink, and Baldur's Gate 3 for the umpteenth time, but at least they're all quality games.

Nah, Baton Pass was busted, pass is a strong mechanic by itself, don't need to add a damage bosst on top of it.
I think Baton passing in Royal was great, and something they should keep, but the thing is that they did not rebalance Royal around the new gameplay mechanics. If P6 has the game balanced around having that stuff then it will already have the makings of a good entry.

P3R made me feel a bit better about the story but I think the first half of persona 3 outside of social links is weaker just due to the fact there's no looming threat outside of "defeat the shadows" and yukari questioning mitsuru
There's also the problem of the dead zone around the end of the year. P3's pacing issues were identified long ago. The new content might help a little bit by adding more scenes to break stuff up.
Yeah, I'm surprised they didn't polish it as much as they should have. A lot of the social links are still boring and require you to encourage the characters self destructive impulses to maximize the points, and the story still has some batches where something else could have been added.
Well, the second point is deliberate, isn't it? Yu and Ren are different takes on helping people through positivity, but in P3 you build social links by manipulating, hence the reward at the end. Doesn't change the fact that most of 3's are trash that didn't need to be kept.
3 has the best social link in the series. There's like 2 bad one and 1 average. Every other range from good to best.

It's been retranslated, but it keeps very close to the original Japanese script. In terms of censoring, the beach scene is easily the most blatant example and a clear exception overall. The scene was also changed in Japanese, so the translators would have had to go off-script to keep the same gag. Only other slight censor worth mentioning is that the shower scene shows a little less skin, but it's still there in full effect otherwise. In short, yeah, it's pretty low censorship here. You just about covered all of it.

I mean, it's still Persona 3. The new monad stuff is good, but I can't shake the feeling they should have done more. The new shadow behaviors are good but are almost never scene or used in an interesting way. Tarturus itself is kinda more bland now in terms of aesthetics and design. I have a taste of a lot of the new content is kinda mid where it boils down to 5 new lines and not much more. The only thing really cool that is new is Monad, and it's only a small part of the combat. You get what I'm trying to say how it's mostly just P3 again?

Nah. IS has always been the more successful of the two by far. The reason EP seems more successful is because it was the only one that was localized for the longest time and barely anyone bought P2IS on the PSP. But at least in Japan, IS is twice as popular as EP.
Maybe in the West, because I think Innocent Sin is liked way more in Japan. Eternal Punishment did so badly in Japan that it pretty much put the franchise on ice, and it is why Hashino had the freedom he had with P3.

I'm playing P3R for like 5 hours and even if it's a good looking game, P3R have the same problems that made me drop the original game.
Tartaros fricking sucks and it's repetitive as frick, it's like they took Persona 5 and removed the interesting parts, bosses, dungeons per bosses, demons, even the majority of the confidants are bland.
The game can sell well, but still is inferior to P5/P5R, they lost the oportunity to make it less repetitive and the dungeons more interesting with Palaces. No one plays P5 just for Mementos.

Atlus has a very stern sort of stance when it comes to remakes or enhanced version. They don't set out to change things, but only set out to either add things or try to enhance things. It's good for people who don't want to see a FF7 Remake situation for a Persona game, but it has its own downsides as well.
I like Reload, but I knew I was essentially getting P3 with a new coat of paint which is why I'm glad there is going to be a new Hashino game by the end of this year because P6 is a year or 2 away.
They could have given it more of an "updated release" treatment and added a bit more shit. I'm not even asking for anything too extravagant, but it'd be nice to visit Aigis on Christmas Eve or to go somewhere other than Iwatodai Station when hanging out with friends.

P4G is still my favorite persona game, even after Reloaded since my vita was my only friend at college. P3R is a pretty mature/dark story where you dont really make friends with your party members cause you're trying to save the world from being destroyed while Persona 4 is the literal power of friendship and the stakes arent as high so theres more time to fool around and get a scooter license.
So I'd probably base it on how you want your jrpg to be, but P3R is so fricking good I wish we would get P4G remake proper

Brushing and watching TV are worthwhile, since they unlock Koromaru’s passive skill. They also give some social stats.
Pseudo-S.Link events (daytime, exclamation mark) are also worthwhile. One of them gives a base stat boost to Cerberus.

He's not particularly helpful outside of Debilitate and his second Theurgy. Also his Theurgy charges slowly against bosses because bosses have no weaknesses to exploit. You can really tell that they deliberately gimped him due to how broken his Theurgy is.
It's weird how they didn't do the same for Yukari, but then again Yukari doesn't have Debilitate.

FES upscaled looks pretty neat, wish we got a P4G style remaster for FES (in ADDITION to Reload), just as an option, and for preservation purposes if anything. FES screenshots look cool, but the game runs like dogshit on the emulator, 30 fps lock + insane menu lag.

It's a video game. The game's world and elements reflect your actions and your choices. P3 was interesting because it was all in on the sim angle and did weird shit like making your party members uncontrollable. But 4 and 5 are much better games for how they develop the Social Link system for the game part of the game.

I think the problem lies on the philosophy behind the party members. In 4 and 5, they are the focus of the story where they get their designated spotlight and development, while the rest is tied to how well you accomplish it, making your relationship to that person important matter gameplay wise with the final reward being their improved persona. This also comes at the cost of them fading in the background of the main story after their focus in the story is removed. In 3, while they get less one on one character interactions, them being independent from your own progress makes them much better at working with the overall story.
There should be a middle ground where you can interact with them properly and tie that to the gameplay without that meaning that they just become a gimmicky cheerleader during the serious scenes.

Persona is literally a Jojo reference. Like Kaneko has been on record stating it's just a Jojo reference.

I’d really like to see them return to the world traveling concept they had for P5
3 months in Italy, then USA, then Japan, etc
Would be neat. Could also have a stricter time limit for some social links that would only be available in certain countries
